So, present-wise, my 20th birthday was nothing to shout about. I mean, my grandparents paid for my car insurance, my parents covered the service and MOT, and the rest of the presents I got were chocolate-y, alcohol-y, and money-y. That's not to say I'm ungrateful for any of my gifts, don't get me wrong. But the experience of unwrapping birthday presents is one that is hard to rival, and this year... it was an experience I went without.

Why?

The only reason I ask is because my experiences with the site have been nothing but nice. Sure, they declined every piece of writing I've thrown at them to this date, but they're always very polite in their responses. Also, yes, lately they don't do personal feedback, meaning potentially acceptable stories miss out on crucial pointers on improving, but that's kind of understandable given the volume of content they receive daily.
