It ain't about space wizards and destiny, it's about a band of lost, broken souls giving all they have left for the barest ghost of a hope, and it's marvelous. I look up and can only hope my drama works (which often have similar themes) may one day evoke half as many emotions.

So I worked a bunch of overtime last week, am feeling less skin-flinty than usual, and thus ask: anyone know of a decent EQG artist who could use some work? Happy as I am with the photo-edit picture for Principal Celestia Hunts the Undead, I'm feeling like a little self-interested patronizing of the arts.

I liked it. Low-stakes slice-of-life ponies have always appealed to me more than superhero princess ponies. It's why I liked Friendship Games more than Rainbow Rocks, and why I think I like this EQG best of all. Yes, they basically ended up as superheroes, but that was a ten-minute climax for an hour-long movie.

/Struck with sudden anxiety that people will hate the upcoming chapter. Anticipation has gone in a direction I did not intend, and I worry the big reveal will be disappointing rather than amusing.

But fukket, it's my party and I'll strip defy expectations if I want to.

I've always been a bit in denial when it comes to being a brony – I never considered myself part of the herd, but rather an outsider who hangs out with it, emotionally divorced from its dramatic moments. Derpygate, EQG, and Twilight's Ascension never got a reaction out of me, save for amusement watching others explode in self-righteous rage.
