If only Twinkle could focus on what was happening now instead of what was, and if Cake could get her little ponies to stay happy, maybe they won't see winter again. But the air grows colder, the memories bleed in. No matter how many songs you dance too or how many cups of juice you drink it seems no pony can run from their past.

This story tries to make the best of the worst ending Equestria could get in the EAW universe. it was heavily inspired by generation 3 of my little pony, as well as the indie game 'we happy few.'

Cake rises from a coma, her last memories being of a Equestria that no longer exist and has been reshaped into the solar empire, without much time to process the world around her she's landed at the top of her former squad with orders to hunt down her brothers in arms. After waking up underground, bound, and by a mare who doesn't look quite well, Twilight must endure. But maybe things aren't as bad as they seem to be for her.

Murmeltier was born in a hive, but was raised in Olenia. He has never seen a hive nor the Queen who he is expected to submit all loyalty too, it's only fitting he would never see eye to eye with his older peers. But as the winds of revolution and coups blow through the nations, he realizes there is more to life than mindless work as a drone.
