When a human clone from the Grand Canyon Province is transported to the Equestrian Wasteland, he finds that his surroundings are not all that's unfamiliar.
That cliff-hanger, that bloody cliff-hanger. You should be sued for that cliff-hanger you monster.
Interesting doesn't describe this currently. The questions, oh the questions: Why does she know English? Has she encountered humans before? Will he get his clothes back? (Yes that is important, if I was in this situation that would be the first thing I demand, second would be my gun of course.)
3076085 Hey, thanks for doing those corrections, I really appreciate it.
3076336 Heh, you'll find out as to why the griffon is speaking English soon enough. I'm glad you appreciated the cliff-hanger, but I do feel like I'm putting in too many of those =P.
3079756 I'm gonna make a guess and say that she knows English because the Griffin's native language happens to be the same as English. What would they call their language anyway, Griffionian? Probably.
Either way it'll certainly help in communication with his marefriend. *Snickers*
3080110 Man, wouldn't that be lucky for Kiako? Good idea, but not quite correct =P.
Keep in mind, it seems (to me at least) that the griffons in Equestria have never been anywhere else (except for those that really, really sell their business in other places). With all the problems in their "home country", I don't think they'd have any reason to learn any other language.
3080210 They don't need to live in the Griffin Kingdom to learn their native language, that's something that'd normally be passed down by parents. Unless they didn't care about tradition and their homeland. Which is possible being they only seem to care about honour and money.
Man, wouldn't that be lucky for Kiako?
Is that the marefriend joke or the translator part? I figure the translator part would be only until they left the Griffins (So like a day or two) enough to get his name and stuff. The marefriend joke was just too good to pass up since Quill did it.
3080691 Not even if these "mutants" are cute and cuddly? Then again Finders is iffy because of her apparent mood swings, she'll go from cuddly to rip your head off in a second.
3083614 Heh, I don't think either of them plan on "horizontal peer bonding" anytime soon, if ever.
Sure, in a lot of HiE stories, a human may eventually be willing to get down and dirty with the cute/cuddly natives, but I don't think that will apply to every human.
14 weeks? Dammit... You've fallen for the same trap I have so many times. I was really loving this story too. Couldn't remember the clones name, but Finders Keepers sounds like an adorable mare! (By apocalypse standards)
Really struck a chord there when the raiders found them. Knowing sh*t like that happens is one thing, seeing it happen to a pony who's grown on you is another. The griffons did a nice save there, and I could easily see a party building up. Pity it doesn't seem to be coming back.
Good luck man. I'm wrestling my own writer problems as we speak. Still, I'll be watching. Would love to see Finder's Keepers again. :)
3900682 I myself am not a fan of that trap... but I'm trying to get stuff done, but I have a lot of school work to do. To think that I'd have more time to write at school...
4196073 We all know what you're going through. I have never finished a story longer than a one shot. If you are separated too long, interest fades. The spark dies. The story is abandoned.
Sometimes it can be rekindled. But you must have the time and motivation for it to come back. If you still want to write, find the time. Think about it in your downtime. Remember the love you had for your characters. Become lost in that world again.
Sorry I sound so flowery. :) Just got spark back myself. Sketching out a rough draft for a one shot. With some hard work, I think I can finish it before I lose the spark again. Or at least leave enough magic on the paper to find it again later.
4196542 This is the Fallout Universe. I wouldn't even half to do anything. Just wait, maybe tip off the local regime leader. Keeping someone alive in the Wasteland is a constant task.
Clearly Rosewing needs to invest more points in her Speech skill.
3024053 Nobody here has a pipbuck, so that isn't an option .

3080424 Heh, the translator bit. Schtupping mutants isn't his forte.
3080691 Not even if these "mutants" are cute and cuddly? Then again Finders is iffy because of her apparent mood swings, she'll go from cuddly to rip your head off in a second.

3083690 Cuddling doesn't have to be sexual, he can use her as a way to warm up if he's cold.
I can agree to not having sex with a pony when I first see them, they're ponies after all. I however wouldn't mind strictly platonic cuddling.
3083739 I don't think they're quite at the cuddling stage, even for warmth, of their "relationship". Heh.
3084621 Meh, they'll get used to each other eventually.
This shit right here is going on my favorites and I'm going to stalk aka follow the author.
This story, I like it

3356207 Working on another chapter as we speak, just don't break anymore cups sir!
3408044 I have an editor. Can you by chance show me these errors?
Needs moar editing
3410081 You need to be more specific. Please point out what exactly you are seeing, such as errors.
3410985 Sorry, doing that with a tablet is very slow and annoying
3414486 Well, saying that I have tons of errors, but then refusing to point any of them out is also very annoying.
3415366 I'm not refusing. When I read this, I was using a tablet
I hope that you update this really soon, because I for one enjoyed it

Don't give up!
4196130 Oh, I never intend to give up with this story. I think about it every couple of days.
4196221 Good. Now get off your plot and go! :D Wait too long, and the ideas go farther and farther away. Don't make me steal Finders Keepers! :)
4196255 You'll have to pull her out of my cold, dead, twitching hands.
4196542 This is the Fallout Universe. I wouldn't even half to do anything. Just wait, maybe tip off the local regime leader. Keeping someone alive in the Wasteland is a constant task.
(Eh, it'd be a pain to look after her anyways)
