Rage (Interlude)

Made the mistake of trying to play Dragon Quarter again. I implore you all not to torture yourselves with that piece of shit. Grinding did not help at all.

Twilight placed the controller on the ground with a face that betrayed tranquil fury. After completing the first four Breath of Fire games, she'd figured her skills had improved enough to give Dragon Quarter another shot. As it turned out, the game was just as needlessly difficult as she remembered. She strolled over to her bedroom wall and proceeded to slam her head against it repeatedly.

"Fuck. This. Fucking. Piece. Of. Shit. Game. Why. Is. It. So. Goddamn. Hard. Fuck."

"How far'd ya get this time?" Spike questioned.

"I just got Nina in my party and died to Spiders."

Twilight resumed bashing her head against the construction material.

"Why don't you just make another game like you did with the Powerpuff Girls thing?"

Twilight ceased the assault on her surprisingly durable skull.

"You know what? That's not a bad idea actually, and I know just where to start."

Breath of Fire does need a new GOOD game, if they get rid of the timer and allow for grinding (even if the enemies get more difficult as you do so ala Final Fantasy 8) then I would play it.

At least in FF8 they gave you GFs and Equipment to compensate for level scaling. In Dragon Quarter, no such thing exists. I even pointed this out in previous chapters. You can have challenging enemies and still offer the player ways to work around them.
