Chapter 4 Retrieving
After Sunset hanged out with Twilight for the evening. She decided to head home early to be all set for tomorrow.
"Sorry that I gotta leave so soon, got a big day tomorrow. hehe". Sunset said nervously while putting on her helmet.
Twilight was standing beside her, with her hands behind her back.
"Just promise me that you'll get home safely".
"Promise". As Sunset set her helmet in place before starting her Motorcycle, with the engine roaring.
"Sunset...".
Sunset turned her head around to give while the engine was roaring in the background.
"Just promise me that you'll be careful. When heading to Crystal Prep". Twilight said in her nervous voice tone.
Sunset took a deep breath in and then let it out "I promise, trust me Twi it will be all fine".
"Are you sure ?"
"Yes plus I debt with far way worst problems than this one". Sunset said with a confident grin on her face.
"Alrighty then". Twilight approaches Sunset to give her a nice big hug.
"I'll see you tomorrow, Good Night Twi".
"Good Night Sunset".
As Sunset dashed through the streets, Twilight just stood there waving goodbye to her friend as she went inside.
Meanwhile in the streets of Canterlot.
Sunset was zooming through the streets until something occurred to her. "I wouldn't get in trouble if I pay Crystal Prep a little visit". Sunset said with a grin on her face.
Sunset stopped her bike on the side of the road and took out her phone. To place the location of the school on the map. That she will soon be visiting.
Once the location was set. Sunset started her engine and zoomed the streets, at the speed of light.
Once Sunset made it to Crystal Prep. She slowed down her bike to not make a big scene for everyone around her. To not let anyone know that she's there. Sunset was examining the school from a close distanced. Observing everything she sees.
The school was duck tapped everywhere from the entrance to the windows, even the front gate was locked shut, and from Sunset's perspective, the gates were too high to go over. Even from around the school the walls were too steep to climb over. Once Sunset found a place to park her bike, she started to think of a strategy on how to break-in. Once her idea struck, she immediately went through her book bag and took out a lock pic.
"Well Pinkie Pie did say keep it in case of emergencies. So let's see if it really works".
Sunset made her way to the entrance of the school before she heard footsteps from the other side of the school building. As fast as she thought she jumps into a nearby bush and hid in secret. With little vision she has by the leaves blocking her view she could see a flashlight flickering around the school. Which Sunset could tell it might be a security guard and what's so happen it turned out to be an actual security guard just doing its job.
While Sunset was waiting patiently for the security to make its rounds, around the school, Sunset got out of her hiding spot and then felt something metal that crash into her foot.
"OW!!!!". But as low as she screams of it the pain was by far the worst she has gotten. Even after countless battles with Mythical Creatures, this is by far the worst feeling she has ever felt ever.
As she turned her head around to see what has clashed with her. She noticed a wagon just placed there inside the bush she was hiding at.
"Oh, that will come in Handy".
Once the coast was clear she tried picking the lock, to her surprise it actually worked.
"Wow, I'm gonna take you everywhere I go now". Sunset said happily as she placed the lock pic in her pockets.
Once the front gate was unlocked Sunset walked quietly to the main entrance to not make any sudden noise that will get her caught in the act. To her surprised the front door was open, Sunset surprised it would be because of the security guard who probably forgot to lock the door.
As Sunset was wandering the hallways, she got one question that she has to get the answer to.
"Why Are The Lights On!!!!!!". She screams at the lowest rate ever.
"I mean seriously why is every single light ON. Does the school even care about energy since there's only 1 person here".
As much she was upset about this, she has to control herself before something goes wrong.
"I should add "Petition on a new rule to save energy is definitely going on my list". Sunset put that as a reminder before she continued down the hall.
"Well time to start unlocking doors and see what surprises await me".
With as little information that Twilight has provided for Sunset. This will take a while since it's a new school for Sunset and the layout will be complicated to navigate through.
On the outside of the building, the security guard was making his last round, around the building to make sure the perimeters were clear. After a quick scan around the building, it was almost time for his shift to end.
"Well, time to grab my stuff and go". The Security Guard said as he went walking towards the building.
Meanwhile, Sunset was busy unlocking doors by doors, by doors, by doors, until she got tired since she was dragging this wagon with her.
"I should probably think about this before I continue".
"Hmmmm.... Twilight did say that her lab was in the janitor's closet. So let's start with this one".
Before Sunset started to unlock the door another time she just remembered that she has the key to Twilights lab in her pocket.
"Oh" Sunset was a bit embarrassed that she didn't do this sooner.
Just before she was about to unlock the door she heard footsteps, coming from the distance and now Sunset is in panic, She hurried up unlocking the door and to her surprise, it actually worked. She rushed inside the room, with the wagon and closed the door gently so as not to cause a sound to the person that walking through the halls.
After a few minutes has passed the sounds were getting lower and lower by the second. After a few seconds, Sunset let go of her breath and now she can breathe calmly. After a few minutes of Heavy Breathing Sunset officially opened her eyes, as she examines the room that she went inside.
All over the walls are lab experiments, data charts, even the radioactive table. Even to sunsets surprise a dartboard all pointing to the Camterlot High Wondercolt Statue. All events from the Battle Of The Bands, to the Fall Formal which Sunset still has pain in her heart whenever she remembers how she used to be.
To her surprise, it was basically everything that she has done with the girls these past 2 years all recorded on her dartboard.
“Alright now, how do I fit all of this on the wagon”.
After a while of thinking of a possibility that this plan can work out 100% in her head. But there was one problem she has well actually 2 or 3 in the matter.
“Well, it looks like I have to make a return trip in order to get everything that Twilight needs. Which means EVERYTHING !!!”
After a short breath break, she got to focus
“Alright let’s do this”
To Sunsets surprise everything fit perfectly in her wagon. The papers stack on one side all books on the other and all that’s left was the Investigation Board. Which Sunset assumes was Twilights biggest experiment that she has ever accomplished in her time here at Crystal Prep and Sunset doesn’t want to ruin it.
“Well, it looks like Imma make a return trip because this board won’t make the trip back, all that pleasant”.
After a quick observation of the hallway to her surprise, the security guard is nowhere in sight. This gave Sunset the opportunity to make a run for the exit.
With the number of noises, she's making she just hopes that no one is here. After a moment of sprinting, she made it outside to the sidewalk where her bike was parked. After connecting the wagon to her bike. She rushed out of there waisting no time right now.
When she got to her apartment she placed all the items that belonged to Twilight on her kitchen table, since it was a better place to put them than on the floor. After Sunset emptied out her bag and got a harness out of her closet for the dartboard that she's bringing. She rushed back to her motorcycle and speed down the road back to crystal prep.
"I can't believe this is going to work".
Once she made it back to Crystal Prep, she noticed that the doors were officially closed now and no one in sight. But luckily for her, she still has her lockpick, after a while of picking the locks she managed to get in. While sprinting to Twilights lab, Sunset noticed a locker that got dented a lot.
"Wow that locker got jacked up"
After a while, Sunset looked back at the locker and noticed a picture of a familiar dog she has seen before. It didn't take long before Sunset sprinted to the locker.
"What have they done to your locker". Sunset said as she slowly tried to open the locker.
All of Twilights' belongings were destroyed and her locker was completely dented, which looks like the door could probably fall at any moment. To Sunset's surprise, it didn't take long for it to do it but now Twilights locker is fully exposed to everyone that passes by luckily Sunset was alone.
"I better get this stuff out of here before everyone shows up tomorrow". Sunset said as she hurried to grab everything and organized it well in her bookbag.
Once Sunset was about to head to the lab she noticed that Twilights locker had a secret compartment near the back. Once she slid it open, she was greeted by a locked notebook. To Sunset's thoughts, she was glad that she didn't forget about it. Once she double and tripled checked the whole locker to see if anything was left out. She finally made her way to the lab.
Once the Investigation Board was out of the door, Sunset carefully took it through the hallways. Her walking was interrupted by the sound of a door swinging open and shutting it hard. As the sounds of footsteps draw near and a beam of light was spreading throughout the hallway.
"Is anyone here?" said the strange voice coming from the distance.
"Well, it's time to see what I can do in a situation like this".
As Sunset peeked to the corner of the hallway to see if the coast was clear and once it was she sprinted down the hallway as fast as she can until she heard footsteps coming from behind her.
"Hey stop right there".
Sunset didn't pay any attention until she made it to the exit. With all her might to swing both doors open as she sprinted to her bike with the guard sprinting on her tail.
With the engine roaring and all gears are set Sunset drifted down the highway leaving the guard furious that he couldn't keep up with the suspect.
Once Sunset got home she emptied her bag and place the big board right behind her couch since it seems like the perfect place to placed it.
"Wow, I can't believe I got everything in one go and survived a small speed chase with a Security Guard. Who didn't really put up a good chase? ".
Once everything was all set and done it was time to hit the hay but not before sending a quick text to her friend.
"I got a surprise for you".
The Next Day all of Crystal Prep Students were heading to campus to retrieve their belongings. Everyone got to their lockers and grab their stuff and quickly head out with a sad and furious face expression.
"I can't believe we have to return here".
"I was going to have a career here since I was the captain of the sports team here". said Indigo as she slammed her locker and walked up to meet with her friends.
"We all had our future set, but thanks to that nerd of a student I just say her name, ruined everything". said Sour Sweet as she took all her anger out by a nearby locker.
All 5 of them agreed until Sugar Coat got something on her mind. "Hey since everyone came here to grab their belongings, shouldn't Twilight be here as well".
Everyone stood there starring at Sugar Coat for a quick second until Sour Sweet took hold of Sugar Coat's shoulder. "Let's get back at her for everything she's done to us and make her pay badly". Everyone agreed to that and started to approach Twilights locker.
Once they reached the locker they noticed that it looked like it got mugged already even surprised the door was on the floor. Sour Sweet looked inside the locker but nothing was there it was completely emptied. Sugar Coat, Lemon Zest, and Sunny Flare each looked down each side of the hallways but Twilight wasn't in sight. This made them all furious everyone except for Indigo who just shrugged with her back to the wall. "Why arent you searching for her". Screamed Sour Sweet as her face turned seriously red.
"Because you all aren't looking for at the main source". Everyone looked at Indigo with a confused look on all their faces."Uhhhh the laboratory in the Janitors closet". Indigo said as she led them to the lab. Once they reached their destination Indigo made them all step back before she starts banging the door.
"Open Up Twilight we know you in there".
After a few seconds of waiting Sour Sweet couldn't wait anymore and took all her anger on the door. To everyone's surprised the door broke and fell to the floor and instantly Sour Sweet ran inside and starts grabbing and throwing everything to the wall and to the floor.
Everyone got a hold of Sour Sweet to stop her from continuing, only to help her realize that everything in the lab was gone.
"Where is everything !!!!!!!". Sour Sweet Yelled out of anger.
"Wait how is this possible she couldn't have gotten here and left that quick she could barely carry everything she had without tripping". Indigo said as she searches through the room for anything that could be useful for them but sadly there's nothing.
This left everyone with anger in their eyes but mostly it left Sour Sweet with irritation in her face.
Class went by well for Sunset all of her classes went on without a hitch, she couldn't wait to see Twilight after school as she promised. Once the school day was over Sunset rushed over to her bike and rushed home with no time to waste.
Once she got home she immediately got refreshed and then changed back into newer and cleaner closed before heading to Twilights house.
Sunset decided it would be best to take her car instead of her bike since Twilight does have a lot of stuff and her bike wouldn't make it feel comfortable. Especially with the board that will hurt her neck. Once Sunset was all set she grabbed the items that she placed in boxes and placed them into her trunk. But the board will be placed behind Sunset in the passenger seat.
Once Sunset made it to the Sparkles Residence she immediately went ring the bell. Only to be introduced by Cadence.
"Hey Sunset".
"Hey Cadance nice to meet you here".
"Likewise". Cadance said with a curious look. "what brings you here".
"I actually came here to see Twilight is she around".
"Yes actually she in the garage working on a project that she couldn't complete at the moment. Why don't you come in and I'll go get her".
"Wait!!!". Sunset said in a low tone of her voice.
"Don't call her yet until you help me with her surprise". After Sunset explained to Cadance what has she done last night Cadance was a bit ashamed of Sunset for breaking school rules but completely understood the reason why she did that.
"No no no nooo!!!". Twilight screamed as she slammed her notepad onto a nearby table as she slumped on her chair while starring at the ceiling.
"There's no point in continuing I would rather accept the fact that it's impossible to solve this formula. I can't even continue my project without answering this because if I tend to be wrong then the whole experiment will take a wrong turn and I will have to start from square one".
Twilight was wondering what would her life be like if she hasn't returned to Crystal Prep would everything have gone different or have stayed the same, with the only difference is that she won't be in it. She wondered about it for a few minutes before beginning to cry as she laid her head down on the table.
"Don't worry Twi everything will be alright".
Twilight instantly turned around only to be met by Sunset's eyes and to her surprised Sunset was wearing one of her spared lab coats. Which Twilight found out that Sunset actually looked beautiful in.
Once Twilight got her mind checked out, she was beaming to a waving golden yellow hand.
"Hello, earth to Twilight are you there". As Sunset waved her hand to get Twilights attention.
"Oh uhh sorry for losing focus for just a sec".said a worried Twilight.
"That's alright I actually came here to see what were you doing, and also here to help you with this problem that you're having trouble with". As Sunset grab the chalk and the notepad as she started answering the problem in an instant. Which surprised Twilight as well.
"Alright, since that is done, let's get started with the next part. For now on Imma be your assistant". Said Sunset as she reached her arm out to Twilight.
With a smile on her face, Twilight took Sunset's hand and was happy to have an assistant that can match her sharp thinking skills. "Alright Lab Partner".
As Twilight lifted her arm up, Sunset knew what she wanted. "Yes Lab Partner". The two high five and then started to get to work.
After a few hours has passed Sunset and Twilight have finally finished the project it turned out Twilight was aiming for an Electric Motor Generator.
"I can't believe the answer was that obvious". Twilight said in surprised right after the experiment went as a success. "How did you know. Just after glancing at it for the first time".
Sunset shrugged as a response. "Back at my old school before I went to Canterlot High, this was basically the first level of learning we took, and since it looks similar to the ones beforehand. I kind of found the answer in an instant". Sunset said as she placed the clipboard by a nearby table.
"How is that even possible, what school did you attend ?". Twilight said with a shocked look on her face.
"Let's just say it's in Canterlot City. That's where I used to live before I moved here to PonyVille". Sunset said in a peaceful matter, even though she couldn't tell Twilight the truth about her existence from another dimension, that could cause a lot of explaining to do about alternative dimensions existing and Twilight wouldn't take it all that well.
After a few minutes of absolute silence, Twilight was the first to speak.
"Wow, wait what grade did you learn this at ?".
"Well like around 6th grade I think".
At that moment Twilight was lost for words.
"How is that even possible that's highly impossible for such a young age".
"Well at my old school nothing was impossible".
After Twilight got everything process of she was just told. She just leaned in close to Sunsets face seeing if she wasn't bluffing about it. After a few minutes of straight faces to one another. It finally convinced Twilight that Sunset wasn't lying.
"Well I believe you, but on a side note now since we're done with my project what would you like to do now". Said Twilight as she organized her papers from a nearby desk.
"Well actually I wanna show you something first," Sunset said as she removed her lab coat and hanged it up by a nearby coat rack.
"Oh yeah, I've seen you messaged me this morning". At that Twilight froze. "Wait how did it go". Twilight ran to grab Sunset by the shoulder. "Did everything go okay, did they treat you wrong, you didn't get hurt right ?". Twilight said as she holds on to Sunset's arm tightly.
Sunset just responded with a grin. "Don't worry Twi I did promise you that everything will be alright didn't I". Sunset said as she embraces Twilight into a hug. "But I do have a surprise for you but promise me to not peek".
"I promise" Twilight said happily.
Sunset guided Twilight up the stars while still covering her eyes. Once they reached the door Sunset opened it leading them both inside.
"Ready.....3...2...1".
As Sunset uncovered Twilights eyes. Twilight was struck with tears of joy, everything that she owned was all well organized and none of them seems to be destroyed everything except for some notebooks placed on her bed. Twilight went to check up on them and to her surprise, it was all of the work that she has accomplished throughout her time at Crystal Prep.
Sunset approaches from behind embracing Twilight with open arms. Twilight turned around and to Sunsets surprised was tackle down on Twilights' bed.
Sunset can see Twilight's eyes watering more and more as time past. As Sunset was preparing to embrace Twilight for a hug, she was interrupted by a kiss on her lips that put in too much pressure for even Sunset to let go and separate. But Sunset didn't mind. She just wants to treasure this moment with Twilight by her side or specifically on top of her.
Yeah, I should really do less explanation in detail and just get straight to the point with this story and yeah I'm still not good with Title Names.
