wounder how long it will take him to just decide that since he cant go home he will just have to make the world he is in better? if this first death hasnt done it then im curious about what will
dusk need to stop caring about the Future and deal with the here and now ... and fucking end the slavers in a show of just what it means to be the alicorn of magic
He needs to find out if it's a closed or open loop. He needs to keep track of how close to his history the situation is. If it deviates too much it's clear he needs to step up and say screw celestia, I'ma take over
I'm starting to think I misread the fundamental direction and tone of this story. If this story's purpose is to be an exercise in finding Dusk's breaking point, let me know so I can count myself out.
I commented about this in depth on the last chapter. The short version is it doesn't matter if it's an open or closed loop he should still interfere. The long version is
Open loop. He's been sent back ~1000 years so the butterfly effect would result in extremely drastic changes to the time he came from just by talking to a single person and he has done much more than that so it's unlikely most of the people he knew in the future will ever exist, barring a magical way being found to return him to his own time the future he remembers is irrecoverable so he has no reason not to strive for the best future he can.
Closed loop. He has already done all this in his original timeline but some weird scenario of events occurs preventing him of ever knowing he ends up in the past. In this case the future he remembers will always be so he has no reason not to strive for the best future he can.
Of course the author probably has something else in mind entirely as the story is lacking a dark tag and I don't know how this can end without him making it back without one as if he can't get back him having to live with that he accidentally killed nearly everyone he's ever known would be pretty dark.
I don't like that the mc seems to be holding the idiot ball but this story has taken a completely unexpected turn which looks like it's going to be much more interesting than the way I thought it was going to go.
If I can make it thru the Harrenhal episodes of game of thrones I should be able to make it thru this... just hope dusk doesn't wait too long before acting.
10664353 i like to think that because he canot go back that means he can do what he wantsso he has either accidentily jumped dimentions and time or has become a being disconnected from the timeline and while a dusk might be in the future it will never be him so he has free rein.
if you don't have the will to read about death and brutalization then it may be best to skip over the next one
And how many should I skip it I have no will... or rather patience, to read about a schmuck who can immediately change the world around him on a whim or simply leave, but instead decides to wallow in the sufferings because narrative says so?
11057295 Yeah, seriously. It’s one thing to read about tragedy from the eyes of a character with no agency or an adverse personality, but whenever I come across a story with an established heroic character who could and absolutely and immediately would intervene but fails to do so because of narrative contrivance, it always falls completely flat on its face.

Sorry Dusk buddy, but your mere presence has altered the time line. If you want something done right, do it yourself. So buck up and take charge.
