Instead of it being alternate universes it’s a single timeline by going back into the past the future never happened even if he doesn’t do anything he’s already changed it. Or He’s in a different universe /multi-verse completely like trying to go through a door that’s already closed before traveling through time was like walking through an open door each time you walk through the door into the hallway you were in the time stream entering another room was a point in time now it’s like he’s A different hallway

Nice, I am betting he will start getting crazy from being alone within a week before he is driven to get into contact with the ponies of that era, I wonder how different the ponies where in that time were they smaller of bigger, could Celestia be representative of the ponies of her era? Could their magic me more powerful or less sophisticated then his own through my understanding there was that much innovation in Twilight's era sense that time?
Wondering if they is going to be an 'You already changed the past' fic or a true time travel one, where none of this happened originally, so time has already been altered.
Time travel paradoxes have always fascinated me due to their extreme complexity. This story will certainly be a good read. I am very interested to see where this goes.

Nice, looks like Dusk is really doing well being alone and doing farming, I wonder how he feels about doing hard work like that , I know that he respects AJ and earth pony's work but I would guess he could get really bored being alone with not books to read or anything enlightening not the mention of the consequences of the isolation won't be doing any favors to his mind.

There is a thousand years of innovation, invention and advancement that is at Dusk's hooves.
The base principles are there and are similar but how they go about it well this current Celestia lacks all of that knowledge.
As such wouldn't recognize the teaching style behind it especially that the school for gifted Unicorns doesn't exist and may not even be a faint dream in her mind yet.
Silly genius. Sometimes the dumbest answer is the best solution. He is immortal so he can just freeze himself or seal himself somewhere until enough time has passed. Or even just hide in a cave somewhere to avoid the risk of miscalculations. He would never think of these solutions.

I think Dusk here is carrying on in the hope that he'll be able to reunite with his best friends in the distant future; rocking the boat too much means the Butterfly Effect will conspire to prevent the exact circumstances that led to their births, and none of them would ever exist.
Gotta savor what I get :)
If this follows the consistency of the other times in the story that they used time travel I don’t think any of his actions will affect his future because it’s no longer his future

Interesting I wonder what the celestia and the unicorn guard sees so bad about Druid magic? I would have liked to see more comparisons to of Dusk Shines' present body and ponies to the those of the past, like slightly mentioned in the last chapter, I am sure their are a lot of comparison to be done. I wonder why the earth ponies and the pegasus seem to be so much less skill with their natural magic compared to Dusk I know he is a few league more powerful in magic but I would guess they are a lot more physically hardy then he is I would have though they could at that time make up for it in raw strength at the very least?
This was a very good chapter and I look forward to more when you get the chance. This story also deserves more views than what it already has. Update soon.

Dusk's cutie mark isn't on the tree? I'm not sure if that's a plot hole (since it was on there before Discord's defeat, which was before NMM) or a sign that something else is different (though I'd have thought Dusk would have remembered from his vision of the sisters finding the tree).
Ruling out that this is an AU he's ended up in either this has all already happened and his future is already irreversibly destroyed as extremely minor differences in timing would change rather the people he knew existed or not and he's already well exceeded changes needed to do that or this all already happened so whatever he does won't change how the future goes.
In either scenario his best options would be to either go looking for help and or take his place as an alicorn and lead as celestia isn't as if he can't get back to his future he might as well try for the best future he can.
The preferred scenario is that this is a story where this already happened so nothing he does actually changes the future and some inexplicable set of events happened preventing him of ever having knowledge of himself and he's able to be reunited with his friends in a few hundred years (or even find a way back sooner) which is a good possibility since there is no dark tag.
If this is a butterfly effect fic it's unlikely that anyone he knows aside from the notable already existing ones will even exist by the time he gets back but that'd be pretty dark. This is all assuming the author doesn't just use their creative liberty (very likely) to say while that would be realistic we're doing something else instead because the realistic scenario would be boring/sad/ect.
He should also avoid having any children as it could result in a "he's his own grandpa" situation, it would also make it impossible for him to go home if a way was later found.
He seems to be warming up to the pegasus and if it follows the general trope of the mc falling in love with the first person they meet this is all going to be very awkward considering she's racist and still under a bunch of probably illegal mind spells to make her into a bearable pony to be around.

He needs to find out if it's a closed or open loop. He needs to keep track of how close to his history the situation is. If it deviates too much it's clear he needs to step up and say screw celestia, I'ma take over
I'm starting to think I misread the fundamental direction and tone of this story. If this story's purpose is to be an exercise in finding Dusk's breaking point, let me know so I can count myself out.
