Chapter 3 The raid

Three days past and kris's men are prepared for war, while the town cowards in their houses. "Kris" exerted a tall skinny white man. "We need more soilders if we dont get help we wont survive the attack" "Well Where do you expect me to get these troops. If you've hadn't noticed the town is scared of us." kris said with anger in his voice.

"Kris we have to go with operation bailment."

Kris sighed "fine" Kris then entered the ponyville detention center. The warden comes out and asks Kris "what honor we must have to be greeted by the infamous mercenary Kris"

Kris shrugged "yea I have a name for myself, don't I?"

"What do you want from us Kris?"

"I want the list of people who have been thrown in jail for murder."

The warden with eyes open wide "why?"

"Just give me the list please" "Fine" the brick colored pony left and returned with a small clipboard containing a list of 50 ponies charged with murder "i'll take them."

The pony looked confused "what do you mean take them"

"I mean that im gonna take them, give them weapons, and hold the line against Celestia"

"But these are the most dangerous ponies in all of equestria!"

Kris smiled "good." The warden then rounds up all the murderous ponies and put them in the square. "well I have good news for you all, you're free." the prisoners cheer "You will be taken to a mercenary outpost and equipped with heavy fire power where you will help me hold off the attack led by Celestia.

"Celestia you mean the princess but why would you attack her" said a concerned looking stallion.

Kris stepped up "I am the leader of the mercs you will be joining. I want you all to know that I am not looking forward to fighting Celestia I'm just saying I rather I be prepared then witness the death of all my men. So what you are saying is that you wont come with me, cause if you do you would be freed of this place and live a amazing life where you are healthy and well fed so long as you look for jobs to do and kill who needs to be killed."

The ponies looked around at each other and agreed "we'll fight with you, but not cause of the food, or the freedom , cause we all have a vendetta against Celestia.

"Kris smiled and yelled "well those of you who are coming get on the bus." Kris and them get back to ponyville where the prisoners line up and arm themselves.

A lavanderish pony walks up to Kris "the princess is waiting for you" Kris followed the pony into a large building to be greeted by princess Celestia in a black robe. "So lets cut the crap you got my 7,000 bits" the princess responded to Kris "I got them but before I give them to you why are you here and why did you kidnap shiningarmor, you know his wife is really concerned. I had to hold her by her tail to make sure she didn't come down here herself and kill you."

"I'm guessing twilight didn't fill you in, but your man shiningarmor led a war party to my hometown lil'kins and drove me and my people to a life of wandering. As for the other question one of the mares here saved my life when I was injured after a fight in the everfree forest. Soon after I left. I returned with my men and saved the village from the bandits that have been raiding this place. The mayor and I had a contract that allowed me and my men to set up a HQ here and act as the law of the village."

The princess then puts her hoove on Kris's shoulder "I ordered that attack and I can tell you why it had to be done."

Kris grinned "good cause I'm sure we all want to know" a curtain then opens up to a angry crowd. "well you were saying."

"We had information that the son of Swadbolt lived in that town, but we had no idea who it was so I ordered an complete extermination of the town. We had to do it that village was the closet settlement to our capital if we didn't destroy it Swadbolt might have had his son lead an army to the capital and the war would be lost."

he princess backed up with eyes wide open "you're Swadbolt's son!?"

The name is Kris Swadbolt ex-heir to my fathers throne."

The mare leaned forward "ex-heir?"

"Yes you might not have known this but me and Luna were the best of friends."

"you were friends with Luna?" "Yeah why do you think she kept going to Lilth."

"She told me that she was going for diplomatic reasons."

"by diplomatic you mean destroying nations on Civilization, then yes diplomatic."

The goddess looked confused then "Why did you betray her!"

Kris then pistol whipped Celestia "princess!" Shouted twilight.

Kris grabbed Celestia's horn and pulled her in close and released. "I never betrayed Luna, my father is the one who betrayed us, he used me to get Luna. One day while me and Luna were hanging out by the mall I went to go get our drinks for the movie and when I got back I found my father and his men tying up Luna. I pulled my gun out and got a few of his men but they disarmed me and knocked me out. When I came to I was tied to a chair staring at Luna as my father held a gun to her head. I was next my father told me and I sat there helpless as I watched my friend die right before my eyes. Before she died she casted a spell and I was surrounded in sparkles when I woke up I was outside of lil'kins. I was going to go back and take out my father but a message appeared in front of me like a memory note. It read "Kris I teleported you to the safest town near the capital tell my sister I sent you she'll take care of the rest." I was about to head to the capital but when I left town I looked at the castle and saw a flock of hundreds return bruised and bloody led by you. I knew if I came to you I would have been dragged to the square and publicly executed. So I chose to stay clear of the castle. I was having a nice peaceful life but then the attack happened. My peace was ruined and your to blame!"

Celestia then backed up trying to piece it together in her mind "But Wh~?" Suddenly the town hall exploded causing the building to collapse on itself Kris jumped in fear "Fuck!"

One of the prisoner ponies ran up to Kris "we're being under attack"

Kris replied "yeah I can tell but who!"

"Its the humans it looks like a raiding party looks to be about 400 men."

"Fuck! Princess Celestia you get the town out of here."

Celestia knodded "right"

"Twilight you make sure that everyone is out and I swear to god you better make sure Fluttershy is safe." "Right!" "Oh and twilight" kris throws a key at the mare "get your brother out of my headquarters."

Twilight nodded "what about you kris" asked Celestia.

"I have to stay here with my troops we'll hold them off you get back to Cantalot prepare your troops, cause you're most likely their next objective" Kris then runs out to battle. Voices screaming from all directions "defend the wall!" "I need a medic!" "Kris what do we do?" Kris orders his troops "free wills load up the clusters" catapult's filled with Molotov cocktails are brought up to the wall. "Fire!" The catapults unleash at the same time the Molotovs spread like rain upon the invading forces heads. Screams of pain echoed through the field. Suddenly a tank blows up a chunk of the wall where two mares were supplying ammo. "Where are those anti-tank guns at!" A flap opens up on the walls where anti-tank gun's barrels were sticking out. They fired off a round destroying the tanks on the eastern hill. The enemy troops were at the walls already "retreat get to the buildings!" The rest of the company retreated back to the buildings where they had light machine guns and mines placed in strategic positions. The forces rushed in "Gun them down!" heavy machine guns light up the gate where all the soldiers were pouring in from. Jeeps started to drive through town just to meet the underground mines. While kris and his men fight. The rest of the townsfolk were able to retreat and make there way to the capital.

Celestia spoke "twilight I leave you in charge make sure everyone is safe I have to get back to Cantalot." Twilight nod and Celestia flew off not taking her long to arrive at the barracks. "commander ready the troops were going in for an artillery strike."

The commander stared curiously "an artillery strike but where?"

"Right along the edges of ponyville."

"you heard her men get ready. Alpha you get the napalm, echo you have the sharpnels, bravo you got the gas bombs. Troops move out!"

Kris pinned down in sugar cube corner "Kris what do we do!?"

"pray" gunfire plaguing the air. "Snipers take out the troops climbing the wall" Kris then runs out pistol in hand sword in the other cutting down the men who had made it through the gate. "load those mortars damnit!" mortars rang out exploding behind the wall blasting bits of soldiers all over the place. "Kris we can't hold them for much longer"

"you better or next body to hit the ground will be yours." The lilthian troops then start getting an advantage over the free wills one by one ponies and humans fall to the ground until half the troops are dead.

"Kris I don't want to die!"

Time slowed down and Kris saw as his friends, his troops suffering "everyone retreat I hold them off, NOW GO!" Kris's troops hesitated but did not falter.

"Not a chance Kris we are the free wills we don't abandon each other"

Kris smiled "well then lets keep whats ours" The troops cheered and pushed the enemy behind the wall. Suddenly a swarm of armored pegasi fly across the sky dropping gas bombs, which filled the outer walls and blinded the enemy. A second swarm fly's over dropping a napalm shell igniting the gas setting off a giant explosion destroying all vehicular and anti guns along the outside of the wall. The lilthians then retreated while the final swarm of pegasi unleashed a rain of shrapnel that killed the rest of the infantry escaping. The battle was won.

Hours passed and the townsfolk had returned to the village to find their homes wrecked and on fire while the streets were covered in blood and torn bodies. Screams of pain echoed around them as soldiers cried for their loved ones who died in the mist of battle.

A yellow pony burst through the crowd calling for Kris "Kris! Kris! Serande wheres kris!?"

"Calm down Fluttershy Kris is fine him and a few of the guys are out giving burials to our fallen comrades. My advice though is when he gets back don't approach him he's gonna need some time alone." Seconds later the bus filled with men with sad drooped faces exit and carry out the equipment. Kris walks into the square with a megaphone. "Everyone we must restore the town so for those with strong stomachs we need you on body control, everyone else we need to repair the town's foundations." The people get to work to return their town to glory.

Celestia approaches Kris "I have an opposition for you."

Kris raises his head "oh and what might that be."

"We want you to become one of our lords and help equestria from the tyrannical rule of Swadbolt "do you accept?"

Kris looked around "well men what do you say, She did save us from dying." the free wills start conversing and come to an agreement. Kris then walked over to the goddess "I accept you're offer on two conditions."

"Name them" requested Celestia.

"One we want ponyville, and two shiningarmor is to never set foot in our territory." The princess takes a minute to think.

"Well you have kept this place safe and we would like to keeps order between our lords, so I say you have a deal." The goddess and merc shake on it and Kris is announced lord of ponyville.
