Chapter Nine: A Sweet Surprise

Fluttershy made her way to the door when she stopped and gasped,

on the path to her door, there were eleven lit lily-scented candles, forming a big love heart, and in the middle was a red rose in a flower pot, and a carrot cake

she walked closer "Oh my," she said getting down on her knees, she sniffed the air, it was one of her favorite scents, she then noticed that there was a note next to the cake and rose, it said "read me" she picked it up and unfolded it

"From a secret admirer, to a very special girl"

she went a bright red but went inside, and came out with a camera and took a picture of this sweet little surprise, she then picked up the cake and rose and went inside, she put the cake in her fridge, she decided to save it for a special occasion, put the flower on her windowsill, and watered it, she went back outside and put out the candles, and took the inside, and put them on her table, she sighed, who was this person who gave her these great things?She could tell that whoever it was, they cared about her interests........ and her.

she climbed into bed, thinking about who her secret admirer could be.

the next afternoon, there was a knock on Fluttershy's door, she got up and answered it, it was Discord

"Oh, Hi Discord," she said opening the door "C-Come in" he nodded and went inside and sat down, Angel Bunny then hopped into the room, and froze when he saw Discord, then he turned to Fluttershy and squeaked something that only she could understand.

"ANGEL, WATCH YOUR LANGUAGE" she exclaimed "Discord is a friend of mine, and he is a sweetheart for your information," she said firmly to Angel, who just rolled his eyes and hopped away, she looked back at Discord, who was smiling

"Why thank you, dear, it makes me happy to know that you think that of me"

Fluttershy went faintly pink, but replied, "Well,.....you've been so nice to me lately, so, why wouldn't I call you that?"

he stood up and gave a regal bow "Just doing my duties as a gentleman"

Fluttershy giggled, she doubted that he was usually a gentleman, but even if he was, she would probably prefer his rascal side

"Whatever you say" she said smiling "Would you like some tea?"

"Sounds great," he said

Fluttershy walked into the kitchen humming, he then saw it happen again, she grew pony ears and those graceful wings with a luminescent glow, suddenly she then screamed, Discord ran into the kitchen and found her struggling to stand up

"Fluttershy what's-?he started asking when he suddenly slipped, he then discovered that the floor was made of lard, a few seconds later, however, the floor then turned back to normal, they both stood up

"H-How did that happen?" she asked nervously

"I don't know," he said "Though it does look like fun" he thought menacingly, but he shook the thought off and asked, "Are you okay?"

"Y-Yes, I'm fine" she went a slight shade of pink, knowing that he cared for her safety.

"Good,....how do you do that?" he asked

"What?" asked Fluttershy

"That thing, with the-" he pointed to the top of his head,"And these" he pointed at her back

"Oh,....well,.....it's a long story," she said rubbing her arm

"I'm listening," he said, an fake anxious look on his face

"Well, it all started with Sunset Shimmer,....."

"And then we defeated Gloriosa, and then you came along" she finished smiling

"Quite a story, and no offense, but the magic of FRIENDSHIP? Are you serious?" he asked laughing, but he quickly stop when she frowned at him

"I mean, it sounds nice," he said a nervous smile on his face, her smile quickly returned

"It is,........and I"m lucky to have friends,......including you," she said trying to hide her pink face

"I'm the one who's lucky," he said smiling at her, her blush deepened, she hope he didn't see her face

"Fluttershy?" Discord suddenly asked

"Yes?"

"Did you,.......by any chance,.....get a gift last night?"

"As a matter of fact, I did,....there was a beautiful love heart outside my door, it was so cute, I loved it, apparently I have a secret admirer, I wonder who it could be"

"Well it doesn't surprise me, after all, you are very ADMIREADBLE," he said scooting closer to her

"Oh, I'm nothing special," she said modestly

Discord chuckled "You are just too kind dearest, you know that?"

Fluttershy smiled again, it made her happy knowing that he liked her the way she was.

Fluttershy stood up

"I have to go, I promised I'd meet my parents for lunch, bye," she said walking out the door, once she left, Discord had a sudden thought,

"Why did Fluttershy blush so much?Was it because of,......him? NO" he scolded himself "You can't think like that, Fluttershy likes you as a friend, and nothing more,.......although I wish she didn't just think me as a friend,.......he wished that she could see him the same way he saw her, but he knew that Fluttershy would never say those three mushy words, no matter how badly he wanted her to......

"YEYOW" he exclaimed, someone threw an acorn at his head, he looked down and saw Angel glaring at him

"WOULD YOU PLEASE STAY OUT OF MY THOUGHTS?" he scolded the rabbit, who rolled his eyes and hopped away, Discord sighed

"I really need to stop talking out loud" he thought to himself
