Damn, did not see that twist of Equestria being Empyreean coming. The changelings have just made the stakes a lot higher though, if their little secret has anything close to what it did in The CORE Contingency. Looking forward to seeing where this goes.
Well how did you think the ARM Commander got there? Crash landed on a random planet and got buried in the mountain? Nah, Equestria was once Empyrrean, Last planet of the ARM. More will be revealed later, but this is a sort of alternate ending to the CORE Campaign. I wonder how everyone will try to construct theories on how they both ended up defeated on Empyrrean....Oh wait shit
Oh, also, Bring in the Legion! Bring in the Legion! Bring in the Legion!
I can almost guarantee that the CORE commander would ally with Invictus. Bringing in a Legion commander, suggest as Cyclops, due to their primary directive being to annihilate the MLA, would give equestrian an ally with a fighting chance. I know Legion isn't canon to PA, but he'll if I care!
7676515 quite possibly. There are still parts I want to think out first, to see whether or not I want Equestria destroyed, or if I want certain...other aspects of things to appear. Since I still have a lot of chapters to do before I make that decision, I have lots of time to think up ideas for this story, or to better flesh out current ones.
But, in truth, Tragedy is only a tragedy from a certain point of view. For example, if Invictus destroys Equestria, it will be a tragedy for the Equestrians, while Invictus will feel satisfaction, right before finding something else to do, like attack the Griffons or the Crystal Empire/Kingdom. It all comes down to perspective
...I need to stop rambling
Edit: also, haven't seen that name in my comments section in an eternity. How's it been?
7676585 hmm.. I might consider it, if a bit tweaked a little... Though while The CORE might want to ally with Invictus, it is highly unlikely Invictus will, unless forced into an alliance to deal with a greater foe. After all, his Primary Directive is to Annihilate all Other Commanders.
But it is a thought. I will definitely consider your possibilities
7676591 do you have the game? I've looked at the model, and it has its two big legs, and four, much smaller legs. It's hard to notice at first, but it is true.s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/rcgs3/robot/1/2/9/9/c/1299c2f2535f0b29a3dabe68d770d.jpg If you look closely, you can in fact see it has an extra set of legs. I play the game, and have looked at the model up close to confirm. I thought I was crazy too at first.
7676631 there's that, but he has been attacking Equestrian Guardsponies, which are set with a pony-fied version of a decoy commander with slight building capabilities.
Those don't look like any type of Commander from PA I've ever seen, so he essentially labels anything not him that is even somewhat similar to a Commander as "enemy".
So even if he mistook them for the Synchronous, he would kill them regardless. Plus, his memory files are corrupted, so he doesn't even know about the factions. His only orders are "Search and Destroy"
7676639 I work on about seven stories, so I do a chapter just about every week for each of them, unless something or the other occurs and delays my progress.
And I generally write my stories in a pattern, so I can tell which story I haven't updated yet.
It's a whacky, dysfunctional system, but it still works
7676640 y'know, if a Legion commander did enter the battlefield, due to the threat posed by them to Invictus, it's possible that he might calculate a chance of success that's higher when allied with the CORE, and due to those odds, decide to accept the proposed alliance, granted the alliance is temporary. Who knows?
Hmmm.... I don't usually have a proper date for each story. I usually do whichever ones I want to work on the most, and work my way down, before starting up again. Usually it's randomized, and is based solely on my mood.
But hey, if anything, it gives my readers a nice surprise in the feed!
Though I'm actually working on another Chapter for this, because I felt like it and didn't want to wait with my idea in mind.

When I saw the ending I was thinking to my shelf, is that liberty prime from fallout? I know it's not but its the thought that counts.

7676337 eh, fair enough. I can see the resemblance...

7473298 I will admit this story does sound like a good tragedy. It is a tragedy, right? It's going to end with Equestria destroyed?
7676369 Also you should spoil that part out.
*six
Yes, it has six legs

Wait wa...
Let me go check.
Alright, I've looked up some images from in game, and I can confirm that it has four, unless you count it's arms.

Aaaahhh I see what you mean.
Oh well. I'll fix it in the morning.
Also, I have the game, just not Titans.
I got the game back during the kickstart, when you could glitch planets through each other and crash the game-and your computer.
Those were not good times
7676610 I suppose Invictus might think the CORE commander a member of the Synchronous...
7676626 cool.
Also, love the quick updates.

7676648 it doesn't seems dysfunctional. Wacky, yes, but I definitely works.
i did not see the Empyreean twist now we just need the supreme commander ACUs to come and the ARM Commander to awaken
