An Unfulfilled Past

A Nightmarish Start

Author's Note:

This is my first story that I am writing so I do hope all of you enjoy it and I do understand that there will be something in the story that will need to be worked on

Sunset found herself aimlessly walking in nothing but darkness, moving back and forth, trying to find some way out. She finally noticed something different, something green in the distance. She squinted her eyes, trying to make out what exactly she was looking at. She moved forward, finally getting close enough to distinguish that the weird object was a pair of eyeballs that were staring back at her.

“Hello..... what are you?” Sunset asked very nervously but the eyes just blinked at her

“Okay well that was pointless eyes can't talk without a mouth, but what are they doing here?” she thought to herself, while the eyes just continued to blink and look at her, but the more Sunset just kept staring at these green eyes wondering what their purpose was she failed to notice that more of these green eyes were starting to surround her. Sunset stood up to look at the first pair of the green eyes and that's when she noticed the others.

“Oh my god, what in the world is going on?” Sunset question very confused and trying now to get away from them

“Monster” said a very quiet voice

“What?...w-who's there?” Sunset asked

“Monster, monster, monster” the voice was becoming multiple

“I don't know who you are but if your trying to scare me it's not going to work!” Sunset snapped but the voices kept growing louder and louder, continuing to say monster, monster, monster.

“BE QUIET!” Sunset yelled closing her own eyes so she wouldn't have to stare at the other eyes anymore, but to her shock the voices stopped. Sunset opened her eyes hoping to see that she was once again all alone, however she was wrong the green eyes were still there, just staring and staring. Sunset breathed a sigh of relief “Well at least I can deal with the silence”

“Demon” the quiet voice returned, sending Sunset a surprise look on her face at the word

“What? Did you just say?” asked Sunset

“Demon, demon, demon, demon” said the voices as once again they grew louder and louder, the green eyes started to move closer to Sunset causing her to become very nervous and scared, she bent down holding her hands over her ears trying to get the voices to stop, as she did that memories of her stealing Twilight's crown, putting it on transforming herself into a demon, immediately came back to Sunset along with the feelings of sadness, anger, hatred and a lust for power.

“SHUT UP” Sunset yelled at the top of her lungs holding her hands up and blasting the eyes with magic causing some of them to disappear. Sunset heard clapping in front of her, as she stood up walking towards her was a shadowy figure of herself that had glowing red eyes and a wicked smile on it's face.

“So you still have that feisty temper after all? that's impressive considering what you have become” smiled the Shadow

“What do you want?, what are you?” Sunset asked nervous of what stood in front of her

“I am your worst fear” responded the Shadow

“What fear?” questioned Sunset

“Your fear of becoming a monster, a demon once again and destroying the little bond you have formed with those friends of yours and hurting them once more that fear to be exact” said the Shadow

Sunset was trying not to look to nervous as everything it said was right and wondered what was the point of all this? By this time the green eyes that surrounded them had disappeared.

“You haven't answered why are you here talking to me?” questioned Sunset

“Isn't it obvious?, like I said I am your worst fear, you as the monster once again and there's also some anger and hatred that has been dormant inside yourself for a while now and it's finally rising up to the surface” responded the Shadow

“I will never be that monster again, I've changed, my friends have made me a better person so you can take being my fear and shove it!” Sunset snapped

“Oh is that so? I guess that means i'll have to do a little demonstration for you to show that you're not as changed as you think” smiled the Shadow back

“What are you...” Sunset tried to respond, but more shadowy figures appeared with glowing green eyes, making Sunset frightened as these shadows were holding Sunset's friends who were the worse for wear

“Sunset whats going?” asked Twilight

“Please darling help us” Rarity said tear forming in her eyes

“If I'm able to get free i'll pound you!” Rainbow Dash yelled

“No!, let them go now!” Sunset once again snapped at the Shadow. She looked at her friends who were frightened to what was going on

“Now why would I do that?” the Shadow said as it reached down into it's pocked and pulled out a dagger and gave Sunset another wicked smile and looked at the other girls

“Alright! I've had enough of this!” Sunset said as she tried to lunge towards the Shadow, but it then snapped it's fingers and suddenly Sunset's arms and legs became chained to the ground, Sunset looked at the Shadow confused.

“You're not the only one who can do magic here, now like was saying it's time to make a point” responded the Shadow as it held up the dagger to Sunset's face “Look at you, you're weak, pathetic, we gave you everything and now you're useless” it finished and walked to the girls

“No” Sunset said frightened

“Help us please” said Applejack

Sunset tried to break free but she couldn't all she could do was just stand there and watch as the Shadow raised the dagger up into the air turned to Sunset and said “It's just a point” then quickly lowered it's arm

'NOOOOOOOOO!' Sunset screamed as she sat up, breathing heavly and realized she was back in her room and what happened was just a nightmare, as her door opened

“Sunset are you okay?, why did you scream?” asked Fluttershy who was standing in the doorway confused and worried about her friend, Sunset didn't respond instead she just looked down at her hands with tears forming in her eyes as Fluttershy walked over to her and sat on the bed

“Shadow” Sunset told Fluttershy

Confused to what she said “What?” Fluttershy questioned

“There...was whispers c-calling me a monster a-and a demon, and there was this Shadow that appeared and it looked like me, it pulled out a dagger and walked over to you and the others and killed all of you” Sunset looked up at Fluttershy on the edge of crying. She was pulled into a hug by Fluttershy who was trying to calm her down. Sunset couldn't hold back the tears any longer she began to cry burying her face into Fluttershy's shoulder

"Sssshhhh It's okay, it's okay i'm here, no one is going to hurt me or you and say you're a monster or a demon, so just calm down everything will be alright” Fluttershy said calmly

“I don't what to be a monster again” Sunset cried

“You wont I promise you” Fluttershy said claiming as she broke the hug when Sunset calmed down

“Are you alright?” asked Fluttershy as she started to get up and leave the room

“Yes I am, but Fluttershy could you perhaps stay with me for a little while?” asked Sunset as Fluttershy answered her question by smiling and she walked over to the other side of Sunset's bed and laid down next to her. Sunset turned to face Fluttershy who reached over and started to play with her hair and Sunset just smiled back at her.

“So are you having fun playing with my hair” Sunset laughed

“Yes” Fluttershy blushed “I think I know away to help us both go to sleep”

“Which is?” Sunset looked curiously at Fluttershy who looked nervous but then she took a breath and started to sing

“Hush now, Quiet Now

it's time to lay your sleepy head

Hush now, Quiet Now

Drifting of to sleep

Let the joy of dream land find you

Hush now, Quiet now

Lay your sleepy head

Hush now, Quiet now

it's time to go to bed” as Fluttershy finished singing she noticed that Sunset had fallen asleep “Good night Sunset” she then pulled the covers over both of them and fell asleep too.

Normally I wouldn't be this harsh but your title is enough to push away anyone who would read your story.
You should fix this first or no one will take the actual story seriously.

The first chapter is a bit confusing, yet it's ending is somewhat sweet. I will keep track.
