What M/M? Like it's a surprise? I support coltcuddlers as well as fillyfoolers. Look at Cavalier Golden Stare and Miles Scutum Rosy Cranberry in my Canterlot-located stories. They're coltcuddlers. Married, even.
It wasn't the rooster-wrasslin' that surprised me, actually. You, know what, Come to think of it, nothing in this story should surprise me. I did read both the Luna fics. Keep op the good and/or wonderfully depraved work.
Pinkie is quite happy with Twilight. Mulia has to satisfy heself with tawdry, meaningless encounters with strapping zebras and ponies in a seemingly endless stream night after night.
This is actually adorable. Few thoughts about reading this story:
1) I didn't think you were that good a writer before I read this. I'd mainly seen your Bad Apple stuff and assumed you were another 'time for OC and canon shagging' dude. 2) I was wrong. The first story in this series was excellent, the second wasn't my thing because I loathe foodplay with a passion, not because anything seemed wrong with the writing, Bad Apple seemed like a much more entertaining and interesting character than the last time I saw him and you write some of the best Old Equestrian I've ever seen. 'FIRKER' had me cracking up. 3) Wasn't a fan of the buffalo story, not because of anything about the writing but because Onyx Glow is such a fanfiction OC name that I couldn't do anything but picture her as a green alicorn with shifting eyes and bats wings. 4) Diamond dog story was solid, entertaining, and a lot less fucked up than I was expecting (in a good way, I'm not accusing you of being tame here or anything, just very glad you didn't write an utter horror story). 5) Doughnut Joe x Gustave Le Grand. Adorbs and all my feels. This is some of the best MM clop and best MM dialogue I have ever read. I'm going to trail through your archive and see if you've written any more MM stuff. If you haven't, write more! Gustave and Joe are my new fave crack pairing, their dialogue is the cutest thing ever, I can't gush about it enough. This ship is pleasing to mine eyes. Another!
I say this... hesitantly. I do not intend to sound wriny at the start but it may be taken as such given my more particular statements.
First of all, you can probably tell how somewhat-insulting I find your statement that you thought I was not a good writer (and on a different note, it is very much a bigger insult that the only thing you really wanted to give a chance was NOT serious drama with sociopolitical implications or comedy but a collection of sex stories. Not even my long single sex story that I consider better than this.) Your presumption about my motivation was hurtful.
As an aside to the first part, I think I should correct your mistake: I did not create Bad Apple fully formed to hump Luna. I didn't even mean to make him. He was a throwaway line in "Elements of Discord" that a friend of mine wanted expansion on. I was bored and interested enough to write a draft of "Bad News Apple." I hadn't actually hammered out much of a personality for him at that point, and I hadn't even clarified his relationship with the Apple family yet. I got slightly more of a bead on him after "The Discarded son." Then his solo story "The Bad Apple Chronicles." All that time, while planning stories, I hadn't even thought about Princess Luna. And in point of fact, when i wrote "The Unfavorite" and "The Nightwatch" Luna was not very canon. But luckily Luna Eclipsed came out. And as luck would have it I was taking a course in Elizabethan and Jacobean drama. I fixed her lines, changed things up a bit, and fell in love with the character because of all the wonderful lines and references that can be put through the mouth of an Elizabethan character. Bad Apple became her lover more solidly in "The Equestrian Resident." But it was always about Luna as bawdy, stern fancy-talking princess. Which is why I'm doing the Dames of the Tea Table (Which has a new bit of cover art.) Bad Apple's stories are primarily pre-Luna and far more about the dismantling of opppressive Objectivist strongholds in Equestria than about "OC and canon shagging." Drama, not sex.
Next... "foodplay" is a stretch. It's more like stripping her down but with his teeth. I take your point, though. And "Firk" is actually a borderline word that was really used in the 16th and 17th centuries. It litterally means "to trounce" but it's patently obvious slang meaning is, of course "to have intercourse with." Yet it was "mild" enough to be the name of a character (Firk the journeman shoemaker, "The Shoemaker's Holiday" Thomas Dekker)
Your "feeling" about Onyx is... strange to say the least. As you are the only one to say anything of the sort, the old saw may apply here, "It might be just you." But again, I take your point. However, I hasten to add that she is NOT an alicorn. Just a unicorn with a strange sexual proclivity. If that, alone is sufficient to ruin your enjoyment of a story... pretend her name is something else? I am not trying to be unkind but I simply... do not comprehend.
I now must ask: How "fucked up" did you FEAR it was going to be and what kind of "horrors" did you imagine would transpire with a group of Diamond Dogs?
Heh, I have not written any other MM clop. This is my first. I have other MM characters though at the moment only Golden Stare and Rosy Cranberry, minor characters often seen in Canterlot-centered tales. So far they have been in "The Unfavorite", "The Equestrian Resident", "The Dames of the Tea Table" and got their own snuggly mini scene in "Las Canciones de Voltaire- Anniversary." Much like Trixie and Gilda, I really should show these two again. They're growing on me.
So, thank you much and I'm glad you enjoyed it. and I'm sorry if I gave off any hint of rancor. I do not mean it at all. I just had things I needed to say.
I'm sorry to disappoint you that this time I do have words, ha! It's nice to see more of Gustave and Joe even if this isn't the exact scenario I wanted to see more of them in. The starting bit was quite funny and the rest well written as usual, barring that single misspelling I found.
Actually, I gave this story a look because it had an excellent thumbs up/down ratio, and wasn't at all disappointed.
I re-read some of your other stuff. Bad News Apple was fantastic, and I thought "huh, maybe I read a Bad Apple story entirely out of context," because the BA seemed smooth without being overly smarmy, and the story was very much about him helping Braeburn and being a bit rogueish rather than a litany of how awesome he was. Then I read The Unfavorite.
Meh. Gigantic meh. Not thumbs-down bad, just... meh. If you want, I'll leave a comment on that story laying out why.
The food thing is mainy me, the mere mention of food on a body during sex makes my brain shut down and scream "EW STICKY EW EW EW" and I've never read a food scene and been turned on. Sleepless Brony wrote a food scene, and my eyes glazed over. Sleepless Brony.
The Onyx thing might be me, I freely concede that.
As for what I imagined, I've read Aetiology. That fic gave me nightmares, the first bit of fiction to do that in more than half a decade. I also read The Great Slave King, which made me think of Aetiology.
I think I might know what your objections to "The Unfavorite" are. I'd like the comment anyhow because... Well, it can't hurt t ask. I've probably heard the argument.
Now, I've never heard of either of those fics. And I have read a few nightmare gore and sex fics thinking they would have a slightly differen outcome. Just what exactly happens in those stories?
They're actually not nightmare/gore fics, they're adventure fics. There's only a few lines reference to it in A Great Slave King but it's still horrifying. I don't want to mention what happens in Aetiology because I don't like to think of it. I have to admit, it's the first fic I've ever stopped reading not because the writing was bad (the writing is excellent) but because I genuinely couldn't handle it. It's 'Diary of Anne Frank' level horror.
I meant I wanted to see more of them in general, it'd be really naive to think what happened wouldn't happen in this little collection. I think those words work, brain is still sluggish this early.
I'm sure they'll show up. actually! They showed up already. Before this even. At my suggestion, Kipakuta put in a short snuggle scene between the two of them after the wedding. He also gave Jasper a wife after a suggestion from me, deformity and all.
Nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope
Just when I think I understand you, you throw something like this out. You truly are a mystery wrapped in an enigma.
seems legit

Eeyup.

Thank you for a generally positive comment
...I hate you.
Not for the coltcuddling part. That's fine.
But rather, for the mental image I just had of Pinkie getting it on with Mulia in the dining car.

I have to ask, what else of his have you read? There is quite a lot to read, and it all (barring the poem) ties together.
956969
Oh? Now I'm curious. Exactly what did you expect to see? Gustave and Joe are pretty much my only M/M couple with any show exposure.

Comment on The Unfavorite coming right up.

You mean in the second part when they talk about what happens to the mares? Yea, that was pretty rough
960176
It gets worse. The bit in the most recent chapter, where the pegasus mare goes back to her family. That crushed me.
960207
I think I'll be avoiding the story then. Even with a sex or gore tag, I don't want to see how dark it can get.
960171
You wound me sir, thinking I have not been keeping up Kipakuta's lovely side-story.
962174
Ahh, I didn't mean that at all. I was just noting they're there, too, more for the sake of others that might look in and wonder.
