OH HEY HES BACK
YEAH THE NEW CHAPTER!! Sorry about that, I'm reading stories that seem to take FOREVER to get the next one out and really don't give a reasonable excuse why.
7043590 No need to be sorry. I openly admit the delay was due to my own laziness.
7044295 At least you admit it, and I respect that.
Twilight, it is time you learned that the Wastelands are no safe place, and those who can survive it, conquer it, are among the most "SPECIAL" of individuals.
Just noticed it updated. Good story and here is hoping for more soon!
*Ends up here after wondering bout Red Feathers*
...huh? When did this exist? Well, ive played Fallout 4, not 3 though... Worth it Camping? You tell me.
You say it a story of yours that isn't trash, and if the other two are trash than these must be god-sends.
Also, how'd you change your username? And since you did, change your info page cause you are no longer SomeGuyCamping.
7268462 I prefer Fallout 3 because you have a lot more freedom of choice. Walk into town and kill any NPC you want to, be able to fail quests instead of them being easy as pie, the side-quests aren't all "Another settlement needs your help" but actually have worth, you have more dialogue options, more locations that aren't Fallout 4's settlements full of NPC clones named "settler" and above all you actually have a connection with your dad rather than Shawn.
But Fallout 3 isn't the best Fallout. That goes to Fallout: New Vegas. Look at the list above, multiply by ten, then add the fact that your choices actually impact the factions, and there are actual RPG mechanics. It'll be a learning curve to get used to, and the graphics are shit compared to Fallout 4, but I prefer a fun cohesive story over Fallout 4's CoD-erization.
7270228 alright, but will i still be good to read this without that knowledge?
7271282 Sure, but the fic will basically spoil the entire plot of Fallout 3 as it follows along the main quest of finding the Vault Dweller's father. However, if you have no qualms with reading massive spoilers in the fic, then I say read it.
7271858 oh, well I normally would, but i know i will never play Fallout 3. So sure, I'll get around to this soon.
7271858 y u no make more of this???!?!?!!? do it, NOW!!!!!!
7347857 Almost done with the next chapter. Computer issues delaying me.
7270228 I played fallout series since 2009 and ik its your opinion; but with fallout 4 , it offers more freedom to choose a faction over fallout 3 one faction. Not to mention freedom of creatovity in aettlement building amd better immersion with even raiders acquiring a personality (with even heartbreaking stories that can actually make you cry). ) I perspnally think Fallout 4 outshines Fallout 3's narrow storyline with its similar yet much more free storyline. You evem get to take over a faction and take over the wasteland settlement by settlement. eother way, f4 brings in more creativity. (sorry im pn my laggy phone)

7350623 New Vegas let you choose your faction, Raider bosses had unique names and personalities, but no settlement building outside of mods.
My main gripe with Fallout 4 is it's a very big map with not much in it. Lots of buildings you find are boarded up or have no furniture inside them, and I personally dislike certain aspects of the settlement system.
Because Bethesda filled the map with almost 20-30 settlements, you are left with what? Two and a half actual settlements filled with named NPCs with voice acting and personality? That is excluding the Castle and other faction bases.
Diamond City and Goodneighbor were awesome, and Covenant was small. The rest you had to fill with copy and paste NPCs simply called "Settler".
Meanwhile in Fallout 3, let me name off a few: Megaton, Rivet City, Little Lamplight, Agatha's Station, Tenpenny Tower. All had unique and interesting characters with side quests that weren't radiant fetch this/kill that.
Meanwhile New Vegas had: Primm, Goodsprings, New Vegas/Freeside and an entire plethora of faction bases outside the main areas such as: Camp Golf, all the Ranger Stations, and more.
Then there is the voiced protagonist that limited the choices for dialogue down to 4. Todd Howard himself even admitted the voiced protagonist was a bad idea.
In short, I consider Fallout 4 "a mile wide and an inch deep." The combat is good, but just isn't enough to keep me through the story-line.

Well, while Fallout 4 is not as complex as the New Vegas storyline, Fallout 4's storylines and side quests are the most emotional, you can agree. But I think the settlement system is more of a sandbox minigame kinda thing for certain tastes. However, acquiring each settlement is not as bland as one, two, three sometimes. However, the "settler" NPCs is understandable enough when spawning hundreds of them, but saving a few unique characters to come along sometimes. I even talked with several settler NPCs before and sometimes not all of them are bland as you think. I don't think the name should change your perception on how an NPC behaves, if everyone in Megaton is named "Megaton Settler", people would think it's bland despite the diverse behaviors now-a-days. I met a few settlers in each settlement, with at least one for each having some sort of personality with them, despite the one-time interaction. (Although Fallout 4 has similar amount of major settlements, or cities, with Fallout 3, the minor settlements can vary when there is dozens of them)
For the voiced protagonist part, people got used to it, I guess. While I didn't agree with the voiced protagonist, I got used to it and came to be fine with it in the immersion part, even laughing at a couple jokes or references it makes. But overall I am pretty neutral to the voiced protagonist
But we both could say that the companion system is an improvement. But I think people should stop comparing games from the past games and expect the same thing (but would also complain if it's the same thing). I'm tired of people complaining that the game changed the system, yet would also complain if they didn't.
7350079 ok thank you
