Equestria has been a land of peace and harmony for a very long time. Nopony bothers to ask what was sacrificed to make that happen. They will find out soon enough...
6698944 Ooooh. *slaps himself for missing the obvious*
Some of the characters will meet, it's impossible to push the story forward otherwise. Whether Coco and Chrysalis specifically will meet, I have no idea.
6698974 I have very mixed fellings what you did with Suri. I mean you killed her in so well played situation but damn, why mixed, because I don't often see Suri that well written where her fast thinking and hardness from being 2faced bitch is used so good.
*Starts reading* Oh Spookies? Yes please. *Get's to the halls and Suri* Okay not that spooky *Get's to the Tripod Mouth* Oh. Okay never mind. *Reads rest of the story* Dear Luna WHY PAUL! WHY! P.S. That was amazing.
so i was wondering what are the monsters in your story spirits made from negative energy? The physical manifestation of ponies negative psychy? the restless dead?
Oh wow, looks like this chapter is dedicated to 'breaking the cutie'. Coco finds a stallion infatuated with her only for him to be killed in front of her, reunites with her former employer who saves her multiple times only for Suri to be killed in front of her as well, along with the other few ponies who briefly show up only to die thereafter. Even assuming Coco survives this chapter, she definitely isn't going to be whole for a long time.
On the other hoof, there were at least two of the monstrosities that died on-screen: one that was killed by its own acid, and another one that died from splatting on the ground after accumulating too much gravitational force. Whether those deaths take and they stay dead is another question.
EDIT: It's a little interesting to see the changes that took over the world of the theatre. First it silenced everypony for several seconds, presumably screwing up the floor layout at the time and linking it to rooms that weren't even in the theatre, then it desaturated all the colours, and finally it aged all the inanimate objects. Somewhere in there the monsters appeared too, but from Coco's perspective we don't know exactly when they appeared.
Coco was quite timid and hesitant in everything, also having deer in head lights reactions of freezing in place. Like, consistently so whether it be realizing somepony likes her or encountering some monsterous acid filled abomination. If she lives long enough, her story ark will involve overcoming her fear and learning to react fast. Or maybe she'll die ironically from such hesitation.
I actually felt really really sorry for Play Right. Like, I dunno. I've been watching a lot of horror films lately. Like, crappy ones which I kinda don't give a damn if the characters die or not. In fact, I'm prolly hoping they die in fantastically imaginative and gory ways because I'm like totally into that crap, but the way these characters are presented as being so close to Coco, plus how relatable Play Right is as this nervous suitor makes me actually feel for them when they die. Also the way Play Right died was rather ironic.
Coco and Siri thrust into dangerous situations together is quite a fascinating combination.
They remained that way for some time, crying into each others’ shoulders and trying not to think about what they just saw. Coco couldn’t even say what it was, only that the memory kept her very close to vomiting. In time, she did, shoving herself from Suri and turning away just in time.
When I read this, something felt off to me. Like, I think there could've been more detailing so that this could have such greater emotional impact. I dunno that voice in the back of my head was just screaming and waving red flags. Like, mentioning their reactions. I dunno, maybe they're both trembling, shaking in fear as they're crying into each other's shoulders. Coco tries to stammering all her friends are (prolly) dead, but Suri, shivering, shakes her head and tells Coco "no" and not to say anything if it will hurt. I dunno, it feels like something could've gone here and cranked up the emotional level so high.
This is one of those longfics I'm feeling incredibly excited to read, and I don't do longfic often. I didn't see a completed tag, but I'm hoping that there'll be more and if not, the journey to solving this mystery is more than worth not seeing a final conclusion. Also I can't get enough of monsterous abominations with vertical slit mouths, throat teeth, and evocative centipede imagery. Also death. Gory, fascinating, body part examining death. Honestly the last time I read a pony horror fic with high quality writing was one by SS&E I think in the summer or spring. Been far too long, eh?
Something about this fic screams 'Silent Hill' for some reason, the fog, the sudden appearance of the rotting, rusted boiler room, everything turning to rot, the monsters, Celestia forbid Pyramid Head makes an appearance.
Nice.
Few ideas about monster but gonna wait to see how you gonna make it.
Do you plan making those heros meet each other at some point?

"Those heroes?"

Main character of each chapter? Chrysalis and Coco.

"Fine Twine".
I see what you did there.

Exactly what will be explained in some detail later. You'll just have to wait until then, as I'm not keen on providing spoilers.

Either way, this is actually good.

Glad to hear you're enjoying it so far. In regards to the Silent Hill thing, allow me to point you to the story description:
So yeah, those things aren't coincidental.
