Yeah... except that that's the exact opposite of how a magnet actually works. Magnets have two poles, positive and negative. When two magnets are brought into contact, like poles will repel one another, and opposite poles will attract. So his analogy is kinda wrong. If the magic of your story actually worked like magnetism does, having a negative polarity magically speaking, would attract positive magical fields, and repel negative ones.

Alright, Mad Hatter...when you started off, your pacing was fast, but not overly so. However, with the last few chapters, that pace as become breakneck and they're starting to suffer for it. You're missing important details, like most of them. Show, don't tell. You've got some interesting ideas here, but you should grab yourself an editor and go back through these last few chapters, and flesh them out a bit.
