I am uncertain as to which part you refer to in chapter 16. After all, there are a lot of parts in this chapter that could have the word "ouch" attached to them, unless of course you mean ouch to the whole thing. There are many important things going on here and I am most happy to have been able to illustrate my vision for this chapter so well, so thank you for the comment.

Ah! Yes, that would be an appropriate word to use for such a scene. I had figured that you meant that part, but did not want to assume.
There will be a lot of pain in the future, Rarity, but I'm sure that you and Spike will be able to handle it together. Be strong.
Patience you three fillies. There are still many more parts to this story, but I shall get around to it. I know this story in and out, from start to finish. Hopefully, it will be a grand adventure for all of those involved.
Chapter 16
This is where I have a problem with the Rarity/Spike relationship and people just being okay with it.
I just can't believe that Linda would make the assumption that they're together. If dragons are such a mystery to ponies, as there's no knowledge on them, why would one assume they could just... be together? Who knows if their even compatible, biologically they're two completely different species. I imagine it like trying to breed a lizard with a horse.
Now it's not exactly the same, obviously. It's a cartoon, and you HAVE to suspend belief. And I'm not trying to shit on your pairing. Personality wise I think Rarity and Spike are great, but I, personally, have a hard time getting over the difference species. I'd react this way if it was something other than a dragon too. A griffin, buffalo, giraffe, whatever.
That's not to say you're not writing it brilliantly, but that's just my opinion.
Also, crashing is bad. But love is good.
They're tough.
