Tavi and Lyra Meet for Coffee

Octavia sat down at the café. Her companion appeared to have something on her mind. "What's up, Lyra?" she asked, sliding a cup to her.

Lyra took the cup and blew on the steaming hot liquid. "I'm sorry, it's just that Timfiction has been down all afternoon."

"Timfiction?" asked Octavia, taking a sip of her coffee and grimaced slightly at the bitter liquid.

"Yes, it's the best place on the Internet for My Little Human fanfics."

Octavia added a little sugar to her drink and stirred it with a spoon before taking another sip, smiling, and putting down the cup. "Fanfix?"

"Fan fiction," explained Lyra. "People who are fans of My Little Human: Technology Isn't Magic write their own stories and share them with other fans on Timfiction."

"Ah," Octavia said with a little distate, "I've heard about that. 'Fappers' they're called I think."

Lyra's eyes furtively flickered to the left. "Th-they're only a small proportion of the fanbase. Most of the fics are just cute little stories about humans doing cute human stuff."

Octavia took a gulp of her coffee. "OK, if you say so. I have just one more question."

Lyra used her magic to float the teabag out of her cup and place it on a saucer. "Sure, fire away."
