Chapter I: A new quest

I step out my maple front door and a warm northern breeze fills my nose. Turning around I close my front door and open my wings. I take off into the sky. The wind flows through my mane and for a moment the only thing i am worried about is the skies nothing else. Landing on a cloud I close my wings and shut my eyes and for a moment i doze off. I'm shaken awake by Velvet shimmer my daughter.

"There you are dad, momma is looking for you she says it’s important but that is all she told me." Velvet says

"Well we should get going then don't wanna keep her waiting do we she is never happy when we she has to wait." I say chuckling. We open our wings and take off. When we arrive at the house I see Dusk Mist my wife hovering above the ground her puple wings barely flapping with our son Lighting Spark sleeping peacefully in her hooves.

"Hey honey what is it that you sent Velvet to come retrieve me for." I ask her landing and walking over to her.

"Celestia has asked for us to go to Canterlot and see her she says it’s important that the fate of Equestria is hanging in the balance again.' she says

"So much for Celestia asking to see us just to see how we are doing but every time she asks to see us the fate of Equestria is always in danger." I comment as we start to walk to the train station. I pay for our tickets and we walk inside. We find our seats and sit down

Hey dusk wake me up when we get there I barely slept a wink last night so I really need it" I say. When i finally do get comfortable I fall into a dreamless sleep. When I wake up we are starting to pull into the train station talk about good timing am I right.

"Alright now that we are off the train lets see if we can make our way to the castle." i joke around as we make our way to the castle. We arrive to see that guards standing in front of the doors to the room of harmony.

"So I take it as this is where we need to be." i ask the guards as we walk past them. The guards open the porcelain white doors and we walk inside. when we walk in we see Luna, Celestia, and Twilight standing by the table of harmony.

"Good you all have made it we have a big mission for you metal" Celestia informs me. As I make my way over to the table the room is flooded with color as light pours through the giant stained glass windows.

"Sunset shimmer has returned, she stole twilight's crown and your extra nano-machines that you asked us to keep here and now you and twilight are going after her to get them back." Celestia tells me

"All of you follow me me there is something that i must show you" Luna tells us. we follow her into a room in the back of the harmony room that i have never been into.

"What is this" i ask walking over to it. I'm standing in front of a mirror. I take a quick walk around it to see if there is anything special about it.

"This is the mirror portal Celestia and I used it to banish sunset to another world hoping that she would change her ways and come back and be back to normal but she didn't, now you and twilight must go and retrieve what she has stolen before it’s too late." Luna tells us

"So just to recap you want me to go into this other world get the crown and nano-machines back and stop Sunset shimmer for good." I say

"Not exactly twilight is going with you so you will have somepony to help you out do you understand Metal" Luna asks

"When do we leave" I ask walking over to Dusk and my children

"Now say your goodbyes and then you must leave you only have until Friday to get this done" Celestia tells us

"Thats only including today 5 days how do you expect us to do this successfully this gonna be a little impossible to do" I tell her as i turn to Dusk.

That's why we are asking you to do this Metal we know with how quick you are with your nano-machines it shouldn't be to hard for you" Luna says
"Also Metal we don't know how your nano-machines are going to react in this world they might malfunction going through the portal and when you get to the other world you may be nano-machine free for good unless you put the other nano-machines in that is" Celestia tells me

"Remember that Metal don't put in those nano-machines if your current ones malfunction and you end up on the other side without your nano-machines

"Well Dusk I have to go cant waste anytime i love you" i tell my wife and kiss her. I turn to the portal and join twilight who is currently standing in front of it

"Hurry Metal please make it back as soon as you can" Dusk says

"Don't worry as soon as I am able to I will be back" I tell Dusk

"Lets go Metal we don't have anytime to waste" Twilight tells me. I take one last look at Dusk and the rest of my family i fall into the portal. We enter a space filled with different hues of reds, blues, greens and other various colors. I see the light at the end of the portal then everything goes black.

Narrated in the perspective of Metalflare,
I step outside, my maple front door closing behind me. As I take a deep breath, a warm northern breeze fills my muzzle. Turning around, I open my wings, Preparing myself for take-off. Off I go, into the sky as fast as my wings will carry me. The wind flows through my mane, and for a moment, the only thing I am worried about is the skies. Nothing else makes its way into my thoughts. Landing on a cloud, I close my wings and shut my eyes.
My eyes spring to life as my daughter, Velvet Shimmer, awakens me."There you are dad", she spoke. "Mommy is looking for you." I raise my eyebrow at the statement. "She says it’s important but that is all she told me."
Concerned, I get up. "Well we should get going then. Don't wanna keep her waiting do we?" I asked, rhetorically. "She is never happy when we she has to wait." I say, chuckling to myself. We open our wings and take to the skies above us. After A few moments, we arrive at the house. I see Dusk Mist, my beautiful wife, hovering above the ground. Her purple wings were barely flapping, for our son, Lighting Spark, was sleeping peacefully in her hooves.
"Hey honey." I made my presence clear. "What is the problem? Why did you need Velvet to come retrieve me?" I ask her, landing and walking over to her.
She paused for a moment, then she acknowledged my question. "Celestia has asked for us to go to Canterlot and see her. She says it’s important, and that the fate of Equestria is hanging in the balance, yet again."
"So much for Celestia asking to see us just to see how we are doing." I replied, somewhat annoyed. "But every time she asks to see us... the fate of Equestria is always in danger!" We began the short walk on the path to the train station. I pay for our tickets, and board the train to the royal city of Canterlot. After boarding, we find our seats, and relax.
"Hey dusk?" I turned to my wife, "wake me up when we get there, I barely slept a wink last night, so...I really need it" My wife nods in agreement. When I finally do get comfortable, I fall into a deep, dreamless sleep. When I emerge from my slumber, we started to pull into the train station. Talk about good timing am I right.

"Good, you all have made it. Celestia states, with a bit of worry in her tone. "We have a big mission for you MetalFlare." I nod, and make my way over to the table. The room is flooded with color as light pours through the giant stained glass Windows.

"yes," I offered my quickest answer,"But when do we leave" I ask walking over to Dusk and my children.

"That's only-including today-5 days! How do you expect us to do this successfully? This is gonna be a little impossible to do" I tell her as I turn to Dusk.

"Also, Metal, we don't know how your nano-machines are going to react in this world. they may malfunction while going through the portal. when you get to the other world you may be nano-machine free for good, unless you put the other nano-machines in that is" Celestia stated, obviously not knowing what would happen.
"Remember that, Metal. Don't put in those nano-machines if your current ones malfunction and you end up on the other side without your nano-machines"
"Well, Dusk, I have to go. I cant waste any more time. I love you" i tell my wife. I place a kiss on her cheek. I turn to the portal, and join twilight (who is currently standing in front of it)
"Hurry, Metal. Please make it back as soon as you can" My wife calls after me.
"Don't worry! As soon as I am able to, I will be back!" I make the promise to my wife.
"Lets go, Metal. We don't have anytime to waste" Twilight tells me. I take one last look at Dusk and the rest of my family.
