A chapter dedicated to the family eh?
Is this meant for character building and we can expect to see miss starlette or her husband more?
Or are they here just to help with the world building and won't be mentioned ever again?
Or is their involvement too much of a spoiler for you to give away as of right now?
Regardless, welcome back! I'm sure you were missed :D

I wouldn't want to give too much away, but at the very least Starlette will be a factor going forward. Lance... well... that waste of space may not be around too much longer if Polaris has anything to say about it.
*gives Mom-Of-The-Year award to Silver Veil for her actions in this chapter*
THANK CELESTIA!

There was some noise about Silver Veil being too quiet and passive despite her position in the family. I decided it was time to put that to rest once and for all and let you have a glimpse at the kind of pony she really is...
4642153 I imagine there are many things the star family may have done over the past 1000 years. and throughout that entire time they have remained close to celestia, that practically makes them royalty.
welcome back Kris and Star we all missed you so much!

Good to be back, believe me...
Anyway, the family has indeed been involved in some pretty important goings-on over the years, dating back to before the civil war. It should be mentioned though that they were much closer to Luna than Celestia in those days...
IT'S BACK! BEST BIRTHDAY GIFT EVER!

Heh, it's good to be back.

Take this piece of advice for what it's worth; you can have your opinions and reasoning, but frankly, no one is going to give a shit about them. You need to learn that your opinions DON'T have to be announced to the world all the time. Don't like something, then walk away from it. You're not going to change anyone's mind or their opinions. All you're going to do is piss people off and start making more people want to beat the crap out of you.
Oops, looks like I made another enemy. I suppose that if I actually cared about other people's opinions of me that might actually hurt my feelings...
Glad to see you back in the saddle as it were. Been hoping to see a conclusion to Starshadow's story as well as see the arc for the Blackguard get resolved, though having some insight into the Star family's inner workings is nice, here's hoping we won't be kept waiting too long. Though I will be more than happy to wait.

Storyboards are being drawn up as we speak, and thankfully Camel just finished up his side projects, so hopefully it won't be too long before we can start up again for real.
YAY UPDATE!!!!!!

Good to see some folks are still paying attention... Also, there should be another chapter up in the next day or two.
4664386 SO AWESOME!
lol
I have a feeling that Silver Veil is gonna die. I really really hope that I am wrong though.
Interesting...
It's something of a hobby of mine to look at conflicts from the villains' point of view and look at what motivates them. Sort of a pointless and revolting exercise if the only bad guys are one-dimensional thugs whose only character trait seems to be "rapist" (I'm looking at you, Cirro, stallion goons, and criminal Thunderlane), but otherwise it's fun.
With this in mind, I'm starting to see where Polaris is coming from in his desperation to find an heir to his family. Apparently his relatives are useless clowns, and his own children, while talented, are both magically handicapped. Obviously the guy's a bastard for treating his daughters like cash investments, but then I've always appreciated the truly heartless criminal mastermind. Besides, after so many years of patriarchal disappointment toward his blameless children, the guy's clearly drained of fatherly love
What I really don't get is his "outsourcing" of Starshadow's punishment and re-education to Cirro Stratus. I can't see any possible way that could have gone right. I understand that Polaris is utterly indifferent to Starshadow's suffering so long as she does his bidding, but after working so hard and taking so many risks to get her back (he was tripping over the bloody Elements of Harmony to do it), he seriously just hands her to some second-rate criminal oaf? Polaris clearly understood the kind of moron he was dealing with, given his interactions with Cirro, but he still just took off and assumed that by the time he got back, Sharshadow would want to open his silly book.
And then she escaped. Through a garbage chute built into Cirro's sex torture basement dungeon. How did he NOT see that coming?
Rookie mistake, Pol. I expected better from you.
I really hope Silver Veil leaves her husband...I really do.
