Queen Chrysalis is told that kidnapping ponies and laying eggs in them against their will brings bad publicity. So, she tries a new approach to finding incubators, and Fluttershy is the first (and only) volunteer...
Another story I was just randomly thinking about the other day. Thrilled to see it has updated, and with, to my reckoning, some most enthralling worldbuilding here--literally so in this case. I like what Chryssie's done with the place. One certainly hopes that Twi gets that redwood branch out of her , but then, I always try to give Chrysalis the benefit of the doubt until (if such a time even comes) she reveals herself to be an unrepentant monster. In this story, Pierinae far more so, and it's a bit wince-inducing to see Twi's prejudice against any and all changelings. It is, however, understandable.
I will say this much, she was starting to trust Chrysalis, right up until she tried to pull a fast one with her mind control. So it's not completely unfair, just very very judgemental.
3257655 Chrysalis was trying to mind control Twilight? The way it was written, I thought Chrysalis was just being flirty and Twilight was upset at her for pushing the issue. Twilight's mistrust suddenly re-appearing makes a lot more sense if she caught Chrysalis messing with her mind.
If this is how it is, I have to wonder why Chrysalis did that when her chat with Pierinae makes it clear that she understands how important it is to be on Twilight's good side.
I'll be honest, I've been struggling so hard to get this chapter done that I had forgotten what she had done at the time of writing. Otherwise, I'm just going to say that she's manipulative to the point of covering up her own mistakes to her own daughter.
Looking back, I forgot to make it clearer that there was mental influence coming into play there. This is entirely my fault guys, and I'll do my best to fix up the mistakes here when I can look at it with fresh eyes.
Was a good chapter. I actually understood why Twilight behaved the way she did, even if Twilight knew it wasn't the nicest she could be. She has every possible reason to distrust Chryssy, and not one reason to trust her. The fact that Chyssy admitted that she can do mind control (and in an offhand way, suggesting that she doesn't see how that would be a problem) is more than enough, by itself, to make Twi extremely wary.
Being overly protective of Fluttershy is merely an extension of that.
For me the only thing I don't get is why she hasn't fired the orbital friendship cannon already, on general principles.
Well, this chapter sucks. I got sick in the middle of working on it, and that just killed the writing mood dead.
Next chapter I'll make it up to you all by making it longer. Yes, that means the clop is finally here.![:ajbemused:](https://static.fimfiction.net/images/emoticons/ajbemused.png)
I don't care if the chapters are shorter than normal as long as you update more frequently.![](https://static.fimfiction.net/images/emoticons/heart.png)
Jesus fuckin' Christ Twilight, have a little more faith in Fluttershy, you stupid little inquisitive bitch!
Now I'm starting WHY this chapter sucks to you in more ways than one Jokie155.

The distrust between the two races runs deep... this will be quite the doozy pretty soon!
I'll see if I can have the next chapter ready for when we hit 200 likes. I'm really excited guys!![:rainbowkiss:](https://static.fimfiction.net/images/emoticons/rainbowkiss.png)
