Oh yeah. It’s time we go there again.
[Continued from Part 2]
A brief detour from the Vespimon Arc this time, though it largely ties into the larger plot.
Regroup
So with my recent announcement that Digital Harmony was cancelled, I felt it might be necessary to post a series of blogs explaining what my plans for the fic were, and how it would progress from there. These will mostly be a few scattered notes and summaries, listed in chronological order of when they would appear in the fic.
Continuing from where we left off, here are what my plans were for the Vespimon arc.
Dark Bargain
...you will know what it’s like to lose.
To feel so desperately that you’re right, yet to fail all the same.
Dread it...
Run from it...
...Destiny still arrives.
Hey, look what I DIDN'T take a year to write! I didn't end up getting the Chrysalis spark I was banking on, but I was invigorated enough to wrap up this chapter of "Digital Harmony." Thanks again to Killer Steel for co-writing and to twow443 for editing.
Now, for those of you who don't know the Digimon introduced in this chapter (minor spoilers if you haven't read it yet):
First things first, huge thanks to KillerSteel for his help in this chapter, namely the battle scenes. My style of writing is really more suited to dialogue-heavy or quiet reflective scenes, I think (you're TOTALLY open to contest me on that), so I'll likely be outsourcing all my fights in the future as I did this and last time.
Hey, so the story's not dead. Between writer's block, college, employment, and the relative unavailability of my co-author a lot of the time, it's been written on-and-off (but mostly stagnating) for the whole year and a half since the Fluttershy/Terriermon chapter. I put a lot of planning into the story, and I'll be damned if it goes to waste.
Anyway, here's the visual companion for this chapter. Nothing extensive.
First things first, it's a wrap on our (currently) final entry of "The Catch." Kudos to Sigma, Steel, Scarlet and SC276 for keeping their own narrative consistent through Kudzu's. So consistent, in fact, that...
Before I say ANYTHING else, I extend my thanks to Midnight Dancer for being such an enormous help with the fight scene in the chapter you're now seeing. She was so nice to offer to help, and I think she did a fantastic job. I just hope she doesn't mind if I pull her in for future chapters, of which, if this timeline I've mapped out is anything to go by, there will be many. I've also added her name to the description in recognition of her valiant efforts in the realm of ponywords.
