The Rookie: Hiatus
From what had been planned, the goal of the next chapter was to make a fight scene between Tirek, Cerberus, and Glawackus with Zeri forming a plan to subdue and deescalate. At a later time, the Rookie Raffle winners would make a reference at some point towards the end. With potentially more if I can make room for it.

Just came back from four hours of laundry, so excuse if this is a bit brief and blunt[/s rambling]. My mind is just a bit overloaded.

Chapter #8 is now at 5896 words, about 60-65% done.

Don't let the word-count slash percent rating fool you. This is going to be a shorter chapter at about 7-8 K words, but still need quite a lot of polish to work exactly right.

I'm going to start the trial-period for a part-time job on Monday.

If it works out, I'll be serving as a (directly translated, might be a real English word for it) 'golden lining' on one of the local nursing homes. IE, one of those people that help old people actually feel like, well, people instead of chore checklists. Reading newspapers, baking, going on walks...

A 'quality of life handyman,' if you so will.

I've mentioned this already, but in light of the resent crashing & burning of V1 of chapter #8 I've decided to hammer out the outline for the rest of the plot a bit more before pressing on.

So long-term it should let me do more fore-shadowing and make sure everything clicks a bit tighter, but right now its going to slow things a bit.

Still, these once a week updates have been mostly well-received, so I thought you guys deserved a head's up anyway.

Bad: Halloween update's a bust. Sorry, I tried, but work is simply not cooperating right now.

Good: Chapter is almost done, and I have a light schedule Thursday-Friday. With some luck, the chapter might hit the pre-readers slash editors next week.

So-so: A scene grew in the telling, so I'm going to have to cut things slightly differently then planned. The new name for chapter 9 will be: My Power Is Not Complete.

To my readers, I apologize for the extremely late update to Imprisonment of a Changeling. I do try to make sure each chapter is perfect before I post it but I do make a goof here and there with how it turns out. I'm still finding it difficult to motivate myself to write it but slowly but surely I'll make sure it comes out. So I want to apologize for abandoning everyone and everything here. I've been on fanfiction. It started with some interesting Danny Phantom. Two or three interesting harry potter. Several Decent Naruto. And then RWBY. Many many RWBY fanfics. To the point where I started to actually write a RWBY fanfic. Two chapters of which are done. Chapter 3 is in development. Book two is planned. Book three is started and I have an ending. Now I just have to write the damned thing from the beginning.

Has it really been that long since I published a fic?

Far too long. I plan on no less than two releases before Bronycon, and that's in a luscious 24 days. So look for them!!

Another good day! Not only did I finally come up with the last two artifacts I want for the main part of Sunset's collection, but Time Goes On hit 200 upvotes as well! I'm super happy about the milestone.

Oh, right, I also got 1,137 words written! Which, of course, puts me at a total of 19,753 words for the month. Less than 10k to go!

And tomorrow, I may just be able to answer a timeless question: How do you move The Mirror down a flight of stairs?

Did not quite get as far into what the chapter is doing as I was expecting today (the Mirror has not gone down the stairs just yet), but I did manage to write a solid 1,185 words! The chapter is gonna be longer than expected... but that's okay!

Current word total: 20,938! I'm nearly a full day ahead of schedule!

Blech. I've been in something of a slump these past couple days - got nothing written yesterday, and only managed to get 306 words today. Hopefully I'll get my energy back soon.

The chapter of Sunset I'm working on now sits at 4,203 words, for those keeping track.

Hrmm... 1,038 words tonight, not as much as I'd like even if it does meet my goal for the day. I was a bit distracted with it being Survivor night, among other things.

That brings my total word count for the month to 2,188.

In other news, I should finally be ready to post the next chapter of Sunset in Ponyville tomorrow! Which will finally round out Sunset's second day in town. I hope you're all looking forward to it!

I went AWOL for more than 4 years. I've kept up with the show, kinda, and have rediscovered my muse for writing. So what the hell.

I logged in and found no less than 5 drafts that I almost forgot about. So I made a start, editing up one of them and publishing it. (With a cover image, no less).
