Hell-ooo, Nurse! · 2:39pm Dec 30th, 2016
Just as a reminder, To Serve In Hell is back to updating monthly. And on 1/1, somepony new will be joining the cast:
Why is it so hard to find art of Nurse Redheart that isn't clop?

To Serve In Hell is back from its short, unofficial hiatus!
This month's chapter is a bit short, but it sets up the Rarity arc that will run alongside the Rainbow Dash arc. Ideally I'd like to start getting updates to both arcs out within a given month, but I don't want to overpromise and underdeliver on that.
I'm up in the frozen wastes of Michigan visiting family this weekend, but given what day it is, I wanted to take a minute to thank you guys. I've loved writing for many years but it was kind of a bummer not having anyone to read it or to provide good feedback about it, and the last year and a half has been an awesome change. I hope to keep doing this for a long time, and you guys are a big part of the reason why.
It's becoming less likely that the next scheduled chapter of To Serve In Hell will get done by 11/1. Preparations for Ponyville Ciderfest this coming weekend have been sucking up my free time, and I have some things I need to read for people ASAP... it's just best to call it now. I'm going to aim for either 11/15 or 12/1, and I'll post back once I figure that out.
I'm sure you've been there, too: You're writing something, and you keep spending time on it, and every time you stop and check your wordcount, it hasn't changed much. Or, you spend most of your time working on the story by not working on it, instead sitting there and brainstorming and/or cursing various aspects of the story and/or yourself for just not getting it bloody written.
Several months ago I mentioned my quest to hunt down all of the McDonald's Happy Meal ponies that were released in February of this year, and I promised to show them off once I had all of them. I also mentioned how I'd bought but not opened an expansion for the Star Wars X-Wing Miniatures game, and how I was using it as motivation for myself to keep To Serve In Hell updating on a regular basis.
Our baby is now a couple weeks old and doing well. The only problem is sleep; baby has strange ideas about when it would be good to be awake, and only takes limited breaks from that. Put differently: Do you remember how Shining Armor looked in the Season 6 premiere? That is how I look right now.
There's that face...
As chapter 3 of To Serve In Hell becomes increasingly presentable, the question becomes whether you'd prefer to see one update sooner, or if I should batch up some number of chapters with the goal of being able to release them on some kind of set schedule.
So if you have a second, please share your thoughts by thumbing-up your choice below.
C'mere a second. Lemme show you something.
It's happening.
I could have dropped an actual song called Back Into Hell here, but it would have been less METAL
So, I received an early Christmas present today: The One Where Discord Gets All The Mares has been featured on Equestria Daily!
Yesterday I saw a new story called Spark Visions of Twilight climb into the feature box. I found it pretty decent, and I see people are hailing its "fridge logic" for certain observations of the Nightmare-verse.
And I'm like, "Yeah, I've been thinking about some of those, too..."
Immediately prior to the season finale, about the last thing I expected was for a big, dark, multi-part Rarity story to explode into my brain. I still wasn't expecting it at the finale's halfway point; the Sombra-War-'verse was cool, and timeline-aware-Zecora was even cooler IMO. But then Nightmare-'verse Rarity was given a few seconds in which to chew the scenery, and the seeds for To Serve In Hell were sown.
