As the Halloween season is over we enter November for Thanksgiving and a new series of Equestria Girls. Hasbro announced recently that Equestria Girls will be getting its own YouTube series. It was about time they did this as the series was begging to be made into a weekly episodic format. My thoughts (spoilers):

What got my attention from the get-go: MORE CRYSTAL PREP! And indeed, the academy is actually revisited at one point. I was surprised to learn in Chapter 3 that Cinch is STILL the Principal, and Cadance still the Dean. Maybe ol' Abacus has not been relieved of her duties as of yet (chronology comments below). I can't help but laugh at how she is described as a "small, serious woman" in this book.

The shortest EqG short yet at just one minute 16 seconds. It's cute and silly, and has Trixie in a cute new outfit.

My Little Pony Equestria Girls Legend of Everfree is a 2016 animated film. It is the 4th Equestria Girls film.

This film has Twilight, Sunset, and the others fighting a new villain who is causing trouble at Camp Everfree. Once again this film stars the human Twilight and Sunset which is pretty good. The film's plot is affected by the new villain who is okay, but not great. Also Filthy Rich's storyline isn't as good as it should be, because of Mr. Rich's lack of screen time.

My hard drive crashed this morning. And I had been doing so well on writing, too. I'd written 2300 words of my second draft of “Earth Ponies Are Blessed With Suck” and so far the scenes have a better flow than the first draft. The employee at the store where I bought my laptop said I'll need to replace my hard drive, which would cost about the same as a new laptop, unless I want to go really high-end.

Actually, I wouldn't mind a CGI "Equestria Girls" movie if they used the Minis model. They have more appeal than even the flash animation versions :/.

Well, that's not entirely accurate; the issue's with the technicolor humanoids, but the pun was too good to pass up.

In any case, Hasbro saw fit to unveil no fewer than seven EqG shorts on the day of the Season 8 premiere, on top of the two that trickled out recently. Unfortunately, I can't do a timely review of those shorts since, well, Season 8 premiered. At least I'm set for a week should we get an intraseasonal hiatus.
