Each month we will be spotlighting one pairing, or suggesting a writing prompt. As you may have seen on the main page, this month's area of focus is Adagio x Fluttershy.

Opposites attract. That's this ship in two words. And while those two words aren't the best basis for a real relationship, they do guarantee lots of juicy drama for a fictional one! Furthermore, when imagining what a relationship between these two characters might look like, keep in mind that it's 2020, so we've had nine years of character development for Fluttershy. This is the pony/person who tamed Discord, who drags her friends along to death metal gigs, who kicked her brother into getting his life in order and had a go at her parents for being such pushovers towards him. This is a Fluttershy who can hold her own. And Adagio, of course, hasn't been seen in canon since 2014 (no she hasn't shutup), so could have gone through any manner of changes in the intervening years.

What would someone who knows she deserves to be the centre of attention, on stage and off, see in someone who avoids the spotlight like Fluttershy? (Remember when Rainbow Rocks had her 'avoiding the spotlight' literally, bringing the metaphor to life?) What would appeal to Fluttershy about someone out and proud as a 'big meanie'? You all know the most popular story for this ship already, so here's one you might not be as familiar with, which has an impressively grown-up take on it. But we need you to write more! Maybe Adagio's PR agent suggests some publicity shots of her helping out at the local animal shelter, making sure the bunnies' hair is just as fabulous as her own? Maybe Fluttershy pays Adagio to go on a date with her brother, to show him what he could have if he sorted his life out? Maybe Rainbow drunkenly chortles at the thought of setting Adagio and Fluttershy up, send a few texts and then forgets all about it, only for them to arrive at Sugarcube Corner the next afternoon? Maybe Fluttershy runs for office for the local eco party, but knows she won't get anywhere without the savviest director of communications tutoring her and spinning her every understatement into a masterclass of dignified restraint?
