Inspired by the several hundred "Ask Pony" blogs on Tumblr, this genre of fiction is followed very simply. Ask questions in corresponding story to the character, and they may be answered in the next chapter.
In terms of character development in these types of stories, remember one thing. If a character in the story is overall very hateful or angry, he or she may have a hateful response to your question. This in no way, shape, or form represents the opinions of the author, but is used for the specific purpose of what that character would say to develop their personality.

362920 I kinda-sorta started this whole thing of posting this stuff on FIMfiction, and it is slowly catching on, it's just taking quite a while. I suppose that makes everyone in this group front-runners of the bandwagon.
Honestly, I don't get why ask fics aren't that popular.
Along with the newly found ability to make an ask blog without having to be a great artist, it efficiently allows for quicker updates without toned-down quality, and it allows an overlapping plot that the askers can help guide
I have a feeling that this isn't catching on nearly as quick as it should be. That, and once does, there will be so many Ask-fics, it'll have to have it's own category Not that I'm complaning
