I don't know about you all, but when I write, I have music playing. It's usually orchestral, like a movie soundtrack. I like Hans Zimmer's work because it is slower and darker than others, which fits my story well. Do you listen to music when you read or write? If so, what?

None. There's no music in war.

Does listening to music and pretending to write count?

You managed to pick one favorite out of the Bastion Soundtrack? How!?!

To be fair, that video is three of the songs put together.

Oh, didn't notice. I only glanced at the title before posting the comment. As for me, I prefer some Electric Light Orchestra while writing.

My selection of music for writing is, uh, varied. I tend mostly towards rock music, but have stuff from effectively every genre I even slightly like (and I like most) in my list. Mostly, I use the same list for any time I want inspiration - actively writing, reading, just thinking about stuff... whatever. Hell, one song actively inspired me last week while I was doing yardwork (and that's a weird time to be figuring out pony headcanons for a story...)

This is a current favorite of mine. I'm not really a writer, but I usually listen to EDM while programming.
