idk when and where i should post Fractures TE lol so have a small slice of the darn thing right here · 2:51am Oct 25th, 2022
most likely i'll be putting it up on offprint.net since I'm already familiar with that site myself (despite it being in a VERY beta-y stage still)
can't put it here on horsewords dot net because it won't be very associated with ponies at all for the most part aside from maybe the occasional cameo. my Fractures project is split into Fractures TE and Fractures "Proper", where TE is sorta like a guinea pig for ideas and just getting stuff written out at all, alongside practicing character interactions, whereas Proper will be a total rewrite of TE with a tweaked plot and (probably) fewer/no cameos since that version I intend to eventually try and get published.
but yeah, TE is meant to be more of a "for fun" take on the ideas I have for Fractures, plus since it's just gonna be posted online and not professionally I don't have to worry so much about copyright so there's very likely gonna be some crossing over with my existing fics here in time. "for fun" doesn't necessarily mean "comedy" though, in terms of how it's written i'd say that I'm probably aiming for the style of Ruins, with aspects of the general vibe of Crew-T sprinkled in regarding interactions and banter.
anyway have a snippet of the tiny ~1.5k words that I've written since September lol
His pulse begun to slow, as did his breathing. He began to sink further into the mass, dragging his sisters with him.
“Caleb—” Lisa grunted, “Caleb, even if I can’t do anything about your friends, no matter what I will get you out!”
She peered into his eyes.
The pleading was gone.
“Push me in.”
“Excuse me what?” Lisa stopped her straining for a moment.
“Push me in.” Caleb repeated. “It’s obvious I’m not getting out of this. Goodbye, Lis. You were a nice sister to have. You too, Zoey. Keep doing weird stuff.”
“No!” Lisa wiped a hand on her shirt before clutching it around his forearm again. “I am not letting go until we pull you out. It’s better to lose a foot than your whole life!”
She stumbled down a step as the darkness shrunk even further back.
“Push me in.” Caleb repeated, wrenching his wrists free of both her and Zoey’s grip. “I’m not taking you two with me. Thank you for trying…”
No.
She reached for his arm again.
No.
A silent scream escaped her as she watched her brother push against the step in front of him, sinking deeper into the void.
“Caleb!” Lisa shouted.
No response came.
“Caleb!” She shouted again.
