Update 20 Oct 22 · 8:22pm Oct 20th, 2022
Yes, I know, I have not written in some time. Just have not had the strength. At least now I can put a name as to why I'm so exhausted every day, from wake up to lights out. Just one word. That word is:
Cardiomyopathy.
Apparently, Covid attacked my heart and lungs enough to do severe damage. At least I have a walker with a seat on it so I can rest, but missing FanX here in SLC was painful. It's not ten minutes from me, but I just don't have the strength to walk a con, like I used to do 20-30 years ago.
But I do have some good news. My disability was approved, so now I can get a dedicated SSDI stipend every month. Now to live with it. Starts next month, I'm told.
Now to lie down some more. I'm around, no worries about that. Leave a note any time, I'll get a round toowit. I had one, but I misplaced it.
Damn man I'm sorry to hear that. good luck to you and hang in there.
Friend i am amazed that you are still able to even get around let alone put words to paper.
take all of the time you need your health is #1.
Really sorry for you man. Hope the research gets through and the treatment gets cheap enough, soon enough that you can make use of it.
Still walking the Long Path.
Hope you get to feeling somewhat better soon. Though it sounds like complete recovery which is what I'd wish for you is unlikely
*huggles* I'm so sorry about that.
Take care of yourself, okay?
Damn, that's heartbreaking. I hope you're able to recover! I don't... actually know if recovery is even possible, or it's just adaptation and living with it. Whatever the case, I wish you a painless journey.
If you still want to write and aren't able, you could try dictation through google docs. If your computer has a microphone, you could use that to dictate instead of typing. Hopefully you have a laptop so you could bring it with you into bed and talk while reclining. Maybe with one of those back cushions so you can be sitting up.
It's heartbreaking to see something you liked to do taken away. I hope things get better.
