Quick update to anyone reading this, fic's not dead, not even a little, I'm just really slow at writing and got a little stuck on how I wanted the next part to go.
Getting stuck made me think about stuff down the line and lead to a rewrite of a large chunk of my story plans because the main antagonist for like the next 3 planed stories was way too powerful to be combatable without the MC becoming powerful to a silly degree as well.
Now don't get me wrong, if you don't like a MC to end up powerful this won't be the story for you but even I thought it would be to far with how it would have had to go, hence the rewrite.
That has been the main thing that has taken a load of time but I think I actually know what I want now so I should actually be able to carry on... If I can get my butt in gear lol.
Glad to hear you're still kicking, Fields! Not many stories like this, so I'm eager to see where you take it. Just remember that this ain't your job.
Im happy to see that this is alive and been reworked as well! I really love stories about people ending transformed into something, while also having him also being in ancient Equus is making it a huge upgrade!
Now, don't get me wrong, I do like reading stories where an mc/oc have a certain kind of power or weapon that makes super strong or powerful against their opponents or environment. I don't like stories where a character gets too many powers or weapons & he becomes basically god just because he is the protagonists and he needs to have an impact to the story. I just like to see our mc trying to survive & thrive in their environment, not god simulator. š
Take whatever time you want! Once again, I'm happy to see this story is getting the love it deserves!

Have no fear, although way (WAY) down the line they may end up big and stronk, it's not going to be out of nowhere (even if some parts might seem so at that very second) or without explanation.
I'm trying very hard not to make them a mary sue, although they might end up with power, even some that are pretty dang strong, they won't just be good at everything or just always win, there is no story without some kind of conflict and if your MC can't loose or fail in some way then there isn't a story, just a list of things a character did.
As an example (not really a spoiler but maybe a theme spoiler?) the 3rd planned story may have to have a tragedy tag added so they for sure aren't always going to win just because of their powers.
There is a big thing about the MC that I think some people will find interesting but I'm all but certain some really won't like (like I'm expecting some people might just drop the fic without waiting to see how it goes kind of thing) but it is important for the story and all the stories with this MC going forward and it is something that will be fully explained and expanded on over all the stories and in effect will pave the way for the "next stage" of the stories with the MC, if I decide to keep going with them (at this time I do want too but I haven't even got half way though the first story yet so we will see lol)
So, given all of that, that thing is not something that is going to change, is it technically very powerful? Yes, but it's not any kind of "I win, magical nuke bottom", anything really strong in that kind of way is something they will have to work for (it's not like super power magic items or powers aren't a thing in mlp lore) and will be tied into the story and the world around them, also that thing some will dislike is also really important for that too.
A fun thing is, although some might not like it, I can almost guarantee no one will have expected that exact thing, and even with the foreshadowing that will happen still might not get it before it happens, so there is that at least lol.

Super glad you are both enjoying it!
I basically started the fic becouse, as SirReal says, there aren't all that many on this theme and I also really like human turned Changeling Queen and really like the deep lore you can get into with that since it is mostly a blank slate.
I will do my best to actually kick myself into writing again, I'm terrible at making myself start things, even if I really want to do them and for some reason with the fic I get the desire to write it right as I'm going to bed and think "yes, that's perfect, I'll get on that in the morning!" And then I'm sure you can see where that goes

I donāt have any stories on hear because the moment I start one the exact same thing happens Iām impressed on a personal scale you even can push through that weird ābest thoughts before sleepā thing. So far Iām loving your take on this theme. Itās true there arenāt many but of those I am definitely favor yours over the rest. Keep up the amazingness you definitely have the creative mind for it just start typing and Iām sure itāll be great.
