Why hasn't there been an update to It's good to be the Queen in a mounth?

Hey all

First things first, no I'm not abandoning the story, don't worry, I am still working on the next chapter and have zero intention of stopping.

Now that that's out of the way I will give some info on why it's not been updated in a month.

Shortly after the release of the last chapter, I had £400 stolen. Now £400 may not sound like a lot but that is more than the rent I pay a month.
After that, I got sick for 2 weeks (unrelated), nothing really bad but I felt like crap and only got about half a nights sleep a day for most of that 2 weeks.
Then to top it off, a close family member was diagnosed with the beginnings of lung failure, not deadly, yet, but more then likely life-changing.
So yeah, the latter half of January was great...

As you can imagine, all this going on has messed with my mental state and that is the main reason the next chapter isn't done yet, it's about 2k words as of now but I want to get it to at least 3.5k or maybe 4k before releasing it.

Just to clarify, I'm not depressed or anything like that, just kind of exhausted most days, I am still adding stuff to the world of the story, even when not writing actual chapters, although this doesn't mean more bug-horse words now, it should mean the world feels more consistent in the future, so that's nice.

Anyway, I'm starting to ramble, just wanted people to know what's what and that I'm still working on it.

I appreciate that I mainly just don't want people to think I've abandoned the story, that seems to happen way too often to stories that seem to start off great and then they just stop updating with no word on what's happened.

Don't worry. People are only going to think you abandoned it when you don't say anything whatsoever about it and go radio silent. I'm sure I've told you this before, but... take your time. It's us that are getting free stuff to read, we have no claim to updates. Anyone that does say that is a pretentious, self-absorbed, entitled little... uh... *fluffy bunny*. Yep.

I hope everything will work out for you and your family, that must really suck...

Yeah I know, and I know I don't strictly need to give an explanation but I just want to keep people up to date since it's been a while since the last story update happened, compared to how it was at the start anyway.
