Question of the Week #73 · 12:34am Sep 28th, 2022
Hello everyone and welcome back to the guestion of the week. Feeling a little bit tired but hopefully you will all find this question interesting none the less.
Of all the male unicorns in the show (that weren't depicted as villains in the show), who do you think would make an interesting villain?
Please leave you answer below and maybe include your reasonibg for your answer as well.
Thank you all for coming. May you all have a splendid week.
The only non-background ponies I can think of off the top of my head that even meet the requirements are Shining Armor and Fancy Pants. The former works better as an antagonist, since he has as much trouble with moral grey as his name implies. Just straight-up making him Inspector Javert from Les Miserables is a bit lazy, but that's how he ends up as a "villain".
Blueblood?
Honestly, Snips. Something can happen to Snails and he just snaps.
I think Prince Blueblood would be the obvious pick as some sort of "aristocrats are evil" archetype. Though, with how little we know about the guy, it would all be more fanon than anything else.
Another interesting one for me would be Shining Armor as a hero antagonist. Maybe have a protagonist who's morally ambiguous, or framed as such, and Shining being the captain of the guard and later prince feels like he can fill that role neatly.
Probably I'd say Trenderhoof because he's kind of shady to begin with and a lot could be done with his character to make him into more of a villain.
Like you could work with the concept that he was immediately taking a liking to certain ponies and it was a tactic of manipulation for something more sinister.
Also there's Gladmane, he's a good candidate.
And any one of Daring Do's villains.
Or Flim and Flam or have been antagonists off and on.
Big Mac, the ultimate schemer. Mouth closed, ears Open, and alway thinking, always planning. He’s up to something
