Edits to Beach Bod! · 9:27pm Aug 5th, 2022

Hello again pony peoples!

This is just a quick update to let you all know I have done some editing to my story Beach Bod! I have been meaning to do these edits forever but finally got the time to do them just now. I have added a whole new scene that talks about the backstory between Zephyr, Fluttershy, and their parents, and also addresses how much people beyond 'Shy & Dash know about their relationship. Additionally, I have made some minor edits to some mistakes my loyal readers and editors spotted.

Usually, I try not to edit stories I've already posted on the basis that it's always better to write something newer and better than constantly try and "fix" something old. I this case, however, I think it was a rather valid point that the first and second half of the story did not flow as smoothly together as I'd hoped, largely because I struggled to write an ending I was happy with in my first go at the story. After some thought, I decided that simply adding a scene which foreshadowed the ending in the first half of the story was the logical solution. As the story was written with Pride Month in mind, I figured I tackle the theme of "being out" as well as the theme of prejudice already in the story, since these are things that, unfortunately still, kids like Dash & 'Shy would probably have to deal with in the real world.

A shout out is due to the amazingly talented artist RacoonKun, who very graciously allowed my to use their art as my cover image. I actually missed their message to me initially when I was publishing the story originally, whoops! Their art was definitely an inspiration to my story when I was writing, so I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.

Have a great weekend all! Next weekend I will be off in the 1860s, but I will no doubt return with an AAR blog for you to enjoy!

And aye, I think the art works well. :)

...Oh, and I see that I appear to have gotten an editor credit. Well, thanks! :)

And thanks for your hopes for our weekends; I hope yours are also good!
