Can Someone Answer this Question for me? · 8:44pm Jun 20th, 2022
It’s a little silly, but it’s something I’ve been trying to find out.
Is the term “Sorcerer Supreme” copyrighted or can anyone use it?
I am aware that the term is used in Marvel comics to name the best sorcerer (often Doctor Strange) but I’ve also heard it used for Doctor Fate in the DC Comics. I’ve tried looking it up online to ascertain if Sorcerer Supreme is copyrighted or can be used freely, but could never find a clear answer, as most results just referred me to Doctor Strange or Doctor Fate or even the Ancient One or Wong.
If anyone knows for certain, can you tell me whether or not Sorcerer Supreme is copyrighted or would it be permissible for me to use it (without being accused of plagiarism and/or copyright infringement)?
Thank you for your time

I found this while searching. Hope this could help.
You could say “Supreme Sorcerer” as a technicality if it is.
Maybe. Dont quote me on that.

So... it is copyrighted?
I don't understand a lot of that legalese mumbo-jumbo
My guess would be yes, but that’s a very hesitant yes.
Hard to tell for me. From what I gather from this article trademark has been abandoned and last status update was from somewhere in February of 2017. However some of this information is either not avaiable or is straight up N.A. Well I would say that it's not, but I'm not 100% sure .
