A fic-related status update... · 6:37pm May 25th, 2022
So... the pace seems to be picking up.
Last night was my most productive writing period in weeks, and while I still didn’t get enough done to wager an update date on anything, I actually managed to make measurable progress. I know Friday will see next to no writing, and Saturday may see little of it either, but I’m feeling optimistic and inspired for the first time in a while.
On that front, though... I made a bit of a decision regarding Chapters of a Revamped Tome. You may remember that initially, I said that I'd only rework post Season 3 content, with the exception of It’s About Time.
However... I've been thinking a bit, and after coming to some realizations, I've decided I'll also do revamps of at least some segments in The Crystal Empire - Part 1, The Crystal Empire - Part 2, and Magical Mystery Cure.
I say this because... not meaning to start a flame war, I think there are issues with some specific things regarding Twilight’s ascension, and ascension into an alicorn in general. To clarify, I don’t have any problem either with the concept of Twilight ascending or the concept of any pony being theoretically able to ascend into an alicorn. I have many alicorn OCs planned, so my issue isn’t there. It’s just some of the specific particulars as the show framed them that I have some minor issues with. Whether my take will be better... that I'll leave to you to decide.
Another episode I've decided to do a partial revamp of is Wonderbolt Academy, given both some issues that were pointed out, and also admittedly to show Spitfire displaying a certain character trait that was only revealed in Season 8 in canon.

Well, I can only say I’m trying my best. :)
As for my plans... in hindsight, "better" may have been a too loaded word to use regarding my expectations for their result. It would be better to say I hope my intended changes make sense and, regarding those made purely out of personal taste, that it is clear I don’t think my personal taste is meant to be any sort of gold standard or required rule, so to speak.
