New Inspiration and Planning

Hello!

So it had been a fair bit since I wrote here. Progress has been slow, but I have made some. About six thousand words on a pre-existing chapter before life whacked me and I stopped. Not a lot, I am keenly aware. But I have a plan in mind, and some new inspiration.

As I write this I recently came home from the movie theatre and saw Doctor Strange: The Multiverse of Madness. Spoilers will be in here, but covered. Don't mouse over the censor, the movie is WORTH seeing, it's very good. So, spoiler-free-wise, suffice to say that its writing has inspired me a lot with how the characters were handled; namely the villain. The best way I can put it without spoiling anything? The "villain" in this movie is written as well as Thanos from Infinity War, IMHO.

Spoilers: Also minor spoilers for Halo 5 and Terminator: Genysis The villain is WANDA, which I did not see coming. At first, I was annoyed, because I thought this was going to be like Halo 5: Guardians and Terminator Genysis, where Cortana and John Connor, long time heroes of their franchises, were made into the villain. A plot twist that I think was poorly imagined, crafted, and was basically character assassination almost but not quite on the scale of what was done to Luke Skywalker in The Last Jedi. At least for Terminator and Halo, anyway.

But Wanda in Doctor Strange 2? Oh, no, no, no. This, from my perspective, was handled with a great deal more care and responsibility. As I watched the movie and Wanda's motivations were shown more in detail and explained... it made perfect sense. To me at least. Dunno how others felt about it as I avoided reviews/spoilers because I have been waiting for a new Doctor Strange movie for quite some time.

So anyway. I do have some transitions to work on IRL. I bought a new laptop that needs to be setup. I need to make a new Google Drive account because, well, there is funky stuff going on with my current account that will prohibit me from logging on when I go to a new device. And I plan on bringing my laptop to work; the idea being, sometimes we have downtime where I work, and I figure that is a perfect time to sequester away and write a little bit (because sometimes when I'm at work with nothing to do, I get the writing bug, but can't satisfy it because I absolutely hate trying to write on a phone!). Even if it's only fifteen minutes or so, it's still progress and I still feel guilty for nearly abandoning my writing projects and those who enjoyed them.

For the most part I'm working on FO:E, Darkness Falls, as I have no idea where I want to go with L&T for the time being, but hey, if inspiration is striking me right now for FO:E, DF, then that doesn't mean it won't for L&T!
