Merry Christmas and alla dat! · 12:56am Dec 23rd, 2016

Hey all!

Been a while, I know, and I wanted to give you guys an update!

A lot of drastic changes have taken place; I've started school, studying to become a Radiological Technologist! And studying has taken up a decent bit of my time, but not as much as I thought. Moreover, due to complications with work, I quit my job earlier than expected. I say that because the program that I'm in lasts for two full years, and in the second year I start unpaid internships at hospitals and clinics, which would have required me to quit my job anyways... just not until down the line.

Well, the reason I quit early was due to some BS in the hiring process for a different position in the same company. Someone whom, from what I understand, had been hired for the position that I was specifically training for, and said person was not as qualified for the job. Normally I wouldn't be upset at this, except for three reasons:

1. The job I was going for was "Meat Cutter Worker", and that job requires heavy lifting, as we move big boxes of beef. Some of said boxes weigh in excess of 100 pounds! And the person they hired has what is called a "profile" (meaning medical profile). Specifically she has a back problem. I don't have that.

2. The other person has no experience in the field. Before I started training, I didn't either, but I went through a four month long "detail" (another word for training) where I worked in the department itself to learn the job.

3. This person had been suspected of giving discounts to their friends; another way of saying that is stealing. They had worked in the civilian deli department (I worked in the military grocery store) and that person had been let go months prior.

The position would have been perfect for me, since it was 20 hours opposed to my cashier position that was 32 hours. It also had a couple bucks of higher pay per hour, so that would have helped offset the loss in hours and overall I could have kept working while doing my school. But, after that massive pile of horse manure, I decided that enough was enough. My workplace has been known for this kind of nonsense, and I'd been there since late 2009. After crunching the financial numbers, I found out that I would be okay for the two years of school.

So, I quit. And so far it has paid off! I have all A's and only a single B in my school work so far, and I'm a LOT happier after quitting my job. Family and friends have spoken about a noticeable difference in my demeanor, and I feel it. Plus, my writer's block has been less severe! :raritystarry:

I'm hoping to have more updates for you guys, as well as a couple developing ideas for new stories that I'd like to pursue. I'm gonna be off school for the next two weeks after tomorrow, and I'm gonna try to get out at least one update for Darkness Falls and Love & Tolerance. Depending on school work, I'm hoping to be faster with my updates, too. Again I'd like to thank everyone for being patient with me.

Anyways, that's my update. I'm posting early as I'll likely be occupied with family for Christmas, so here's to all of you fantastic people on FimFic! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
