Hi again. Sorry for being so radio-silent. We’ve still been banging away at treatments for me but success is limited and often short-lived. I’m deep enough in the trench to be unemployed and darn near unemployable period. I’m still fighting though. I’m slowly dragging myself off Valium, and switching to Cymbalta(/duloxetine, the generic) has caused upswings in my mood more than other meds have, even if also ultimately temporary. Since I have nothing but time, my writing brain has been desperately stirring in an attempt to give me a life purpose.
So why did I begin the title with “G5.5”? Well, G5 began with the movie as far as I’m concerned. And despite the complete lack of explanation of what happened to Old Equestria, I wholeheartedly loved the movie and wanted more. Then its miniseries was announced and…I’m going to keep a long story short and say it’s basically what I call G5.5 and while it doesn’t hold a candle to G4 at all, I didn’t expect it to (with 5 minute episodes HELL no). And…it’s actually brought some regular pony back into my life to watch weekly, and developed some of the characters I felt were lacking in character. (Pipp and Zipp seemed somewhat bland compared to Izzy, Hitch, and Sunny based solely off the movie; these little 5 minute episodes have given me a bit more insight on their attitudes.) And more importantly…it’s stirred my writing spirit back into generating writing ideas. And even given me a reason to keep going and not…you know. But I realize some of you are G4 purists, so I’ll ask:
Would you guys want me to post G5(.5) fiction if it also helped me work my way back up to G4? Or would you prefer I stay submerged until the G4 spark returns?
I have several G5(.5) fics planned that involve foalcon, so don’t worry, you’d still be getting quality filly lewds. It’s just a matter of who and where. And when. And why. And…well, everything that constitutes a story I guess. :P

All ponies must be lewded. G4, G5, hell, go back and write some G1 through 3 if you want. As long as there are ponies, and they are having sexy times with other ponies or pony accessories, than all is right in the world.

Thanks for the response. Honestly I’ve been told that phrase so many times (write what you want) and it still refuses to stick for longer than a week or so. It helps to be reminded that part of it’s my enjoyment too, in crafting something from thin air. I would do well to remember this especially in times like these, where happiness comes and goes like a busy, confused New Yorker on the subway trying to get to work. Or like an overgrown metaphor used to extend word count.

I'm not opposed to G5, there's no reason I can't enjoy both. You should write whatever you want.
