Goodbye · 8:44am Apr 28th, 2022
Hello, everyone.
As you know, or can at least guess. Writing is everything to me. I first began writing original stories in 2015 before moving over to Fimfiction. Alas, I have been writing more on Fimfiction than I have my original stories, which was never my intention to begin with.
So, after finishing Twilight Daylight 4, I will be shutting down operations on Fimfiction for more professional pursuits. I will not be finishing The Scoota Finale, Mystery Scootaloo, The Lost One, or The Story of Rainbow. As a matter of fact those stories will be deleted.
However, I will be writing professional novels with the same plots in the future for purchase. If you wish to learn more about my journey, feel free to follow me on Instagram or Twitter, both @officialmjsmith.
Thank you guys so much for the memories and the smiles you have given me simply by being a reader. I will always treasure your uplifting comments. Once again, thank you.
While I can understand your reasons for leaving, and wish you good luck for your future, please don't delete these stories. It's always a sad day when something that good gets deleted, never to be seen again.
Aww. At the very least don’t delete your fics. Even unfinished readers can sometimes find something to enjoy about them, and can use their imaginations to complete them in their heads. Best of the lucks. *snugs*
please dont delete the unfinished fics
they could maybe be built upon by other people? used as inspiration maybe?
hope ur future treats u well and good luck
Sad to see you go, I've been here since TD1 at this point along with The Lost One. Your reasons are clear, but to echo the other comments, Don't delete the unfinished stories, placing them as cancelled with a link to this blog right here is a better idea. I think handing over these stories to another writer that you may trust to finish them is also a good idea.
If memory serves me correctly, I thought that you had ideas to hand off The Lost One to another writer anyway unless I'm making things up now.
I wish you luck and will at the very least take a look at your proffessional work.
Thank you for being an inspiration to many writers and readers on this site.
While I have to agree with the other comments about not deleting your stories, I understand perfectly why you're deciding to leave. I hope you are successful in your goals. Both in and out of writing.
Deleting the unfinished stories is about avoiding self-competition. These stories are being reworked into original fiction for publication, and will be available for purchase. If they are available for free on this archive, even incomplete, some number of people might read them here rather than purchase them. On the other hand, people who started reading them here will have to purchase the reworked stories to finish them, giving the author a secure, if small, market. The decision to delete them makes total business sense, and should be respected.
(Also you can download stories off this archive if you're really attached to them as they are.)
