Mental Health Update: May 9, 2024

    Hello everyone, Noah here.

I'm holding steady with my mental health. I am not any worse or better than I was at my last update for you all back in April. Dopamine therapy is slow but steady. I think it will work eventually.

Mental Health Update: April 19, 2024

    Hello everyone, Noah here.

First, happy birthday, Mom! You turn 47 today. I wouldn't be where I am today without you. I love you so much.

My depression is, well its not worse, but it hasn't really improved that much. I've been sporadically posting on X.com and my discord server, but I am trying to get chronic tech dependency under control. My therapist thinks I can do it.

Mental Health Update: 3/24/24: Goodbye Clock?!

Before anyone freaks out, no, I am not attempting suicide a third time!

Now that this disclaimer is out of the way, I wanted to let everyone know that my psychiatrist told me to delete each and every one of my socials permanently, if I am to keep my mental health in check.

Depression and anxiety suck, and being online has made some symptoms worse.

I'm Bored: Here's My OC's Full Biography · 9:54pm Apr 26th, 2022

Hello, everyone.

I am bored today (and overtired). I thought I'd entertain you all with a crumb of information regarding Clockwork. I hope to make a fic out of him one day, but for now, he's just my pony oc that I've used in Homebrew 5e for a while. Keep in mind that Clockwork doesn't exist in the canon FiM timeline, as you'll see from my bio.

Enjoy!

Clockwork's Bio

Name: Clockwork Relativity (although he goes by his first name, Clockwork).

Physical characteristics: Clockwork is a unicorn pony who has a medium-blue coat of fur, hazel eyes, and a cosmic blue mane and tail. His cutie mark is an hourglass, which symbolizes his sacred duty to record, analyze, and protect time and space. (This is not to be confused with Doctor Hooves, who has the same cutie mark. These two ponies have different jobs!). It is also worth mentioning that Clockwork was diagnosed with Asperger's Disorder at the age of three. While diagnostic tests did not exist during his parents' formative years, it is widely believed now that his mother also has the same autistic condition.

Birthday and age: July 3rd. Clockwork is 18 years old.

Family Origin: Clockwork's family origins are murky. His mother is Princess Luna, the diarch of nighttime, dreams, and the moon and stars. For most of his foalhood, Clockwork didn't know who his father was, but as he got older, he learned that he exists because his mother was violated by King Sombra. Under current Equestrian law, this makes Clockwork a bastard foal. He does not have the title of "Prince", nor is he eligible for any inheritance from his mother. This led to many skirmishes in Canterlot over the years, where he's mostly ostracized by his fellow ponies, and as much as his mother loves him, she cannot change her foal's bastard status. Celestia does not love her nephew; however, she tolerates him out of respect for Luna. She sees him as her sister's failure to protect herself, and a permanent disgrace to the family.

Magical Abilities: Since Clockwork is of alicorn lineage, his magical abilities are slightly above average. He cannot cast alicorn-tier magic, but he's among some of the most gifted unicorn magicians in Equestria. He's not a prodigy, but he's not deficient, either. While Clockwork is versatile in all forms of magic, magic relating to time and space is his specialty. At the age of 13, Clockwork received his cutie mark by accurately predicting the future five seconds in advance, saving his best friend (and magical study buddy) Sunburst from a fatal snakebite. At full strength, Clockwork can travel through time (as long as he doesn't travel during his own lifetime, to avoid a paradox!), pause time for no longer than 10 seconds, and manipulate small pockets of four-dimensional space to tesser himself, objects, or foes through wormholes. This is much more advanced than basic teleportation! When under extreme duress, Clockwork's umbrum pony lineage kicks in, and he is able to partially manipulate the minds of ponies, like his father before him. This area of magic needs more training and is highly unstable.

Alignment: Lawful Neutral. Clockwork lives by his own moral code; partially formed by his mother Princess Luna and his own life experiences. He can't stand his aunt Princess Celestia, since she belittles him and considers him to be a bastard pony, unworthy of her love or praise. In spite of this, Clockwork was able to enroll in Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns on his own merit, as a "fuck you" to his aunt's prejudices.

Friend and allies: Due to Clockwork's Asperger's, the Magic of Friendship doesn't come naturally to Clockwork as it does with other ponies or creatures. Thankfully, he's got some help! Naturally, Clockwork's #1 fan is his mother, Princess Luna. She'd do anything to protect or advocate for her son, even if it means bringing out Nightmare Moon to do it! Clockwork does whatever he can to honor his mother, no matter what the cost.
His best friend is Sunburst. Clockwork went to an enrichment program in Sire's Hollow and spent the summers with him. The two read as many books as possible and broadened each other's intellectual horizons. Funny enough, it was this friendship that led to Clockwork meeting his marefriend Starlight, as she also grew up in Sire's Hollow. Starlight loves Clockwork with her whole being and is willing to break the wheel of Equestrian society to make him a legitimate heir of Luna. The only other pony who'd technically be considered a friend is his cousin (through marriage) Twilight Sparkle. As the Princess of Friendship, Twilight's got some mighty big hooves to fill when she succeeds Celestia. For now, she's content helping her fellow creatures develop Friendship; especially those who have trouble doing it on their own. Twilight's also been key in lobbying for Clockwork's legitimization by Celestia, the only pony who can grant that right.

Adversaries: Clockwork's detractors are mostly the Canterlot Old Guard (Blueblood, Fancy Pants, Fleur De Lis, etc), who feel that his very existence as a bastard defiles the name of the Two Sisters. He's learned to ignore the hate over the years, but sometimes the insults get too personal; especially when his mother Luna's involved in them. He hasn't spoken to his aunt Celestia since he got his cutie mark for this exact reason. The only pony who Clockwork would even consider to be an enemy is his father, King Sombra. He cannot and will not forgive him for hurting his mother, even though that very action lead to his existence in the first place. The pain of knowing he exists solely out of a violent crime will be something he must fight for the rest of his life. He can and must avenge his mother.

Interests: Clockwork takes after his mother and cousin! Any reading material is a win for him, and Clockwork has curated a vast library for himself. It also helps that his marefriend Starlight and #1 study buddy Sunburst also love to read! They share books all the time! Besides reading, Clockwork enjoys playing Ogres & Oubliettes, the occasional magical duel, and collecting artifacts from across spacetime. He's got some cool stuff from the future, too!

Weaknesses: Because Clockwork is a time pony, and he knows the future, he cannot disclose the future to anycreature; not even his mother. The only future he does not or cannot know is his own. He knows Equestria will fall under his cousin Twilight's rule and will rise 5,000 years later under Sunny Starscout and her friends. However, Clockwork's got a more serious problem: His biggest weakness is his mortality. Clockwork is a regular, plain old unicorn pony. He will live a normal lifespan of around 100 or so years, depending on how well he takes care of his body. This means his mother Princess Luna will have to bury her own child because she cannot die. He sees Fluttershy for therapy regarding this issue, and they have made substantial progress over the years. Clockwork's learned to focus on the present, which is hard when you know the future. He's got to enjoy every moment while he can!

Miscellaneous Facts: Clockwork is anaphylactic to tree nuts, such as cashews, pistachios, walnuts, and the like. Mysteriously, he is not allergic to almonds. Because of his tenuous existence in geopolitical terms, the Mane Six, save for his cousin Twilight, aren't particularly involved or interested in Clockwork. They are more afraid of Celestia's retribution for "aiding a bastard foal who doesn't deserve it." His favorite color is blue, and his guilty pleasure is singing in Old Ponish in the shower!

***END BIO HERE***

Well, that's Clockwork for ya. I've left out some nonessential details from my personal 5e campaigns, since those vary from game to game. If anyone's interested in a fic about Clockwork, let me know either here or in a direct message.

Take care and hugs for all!

Now I feel bad.

Ever hear of parallel universes?

Really the reason Sombra gets the blame is because I hate my own father, not because I hate Sombra.

....Yeah.

Really the reason Sombra gets the blame is because I hate my own father, not because I hate Sombra.

Me right now: :yay:
