Gems Alternative: A Different Fate Plans

So I just wanted to make a quick blog post about what I was planning for my newest entry for my Gems series and after talking with a friend. I've decided that I'm not going to bring back Watcher as the main character as I feel like he can only really work as the protagonist in the original story I made before. I just can't see him being with anyone besides Celestia and I don't want to take that away.

However that was only one issue I had with Gems Alternative. The shipping was another issue I had with this as I keep wanting to change it to where the main character is shipped with either Cadance or Celestia. Now when I picked these two that doesn't mean I hate Luna or Twilight, cause I love those two to death. It's just shipping OC's with them has been done to death as they are literally so many out there that I feel like Celestia and Cadance don't have enough to be honest.

So for this story I've decided to have Princess Celestia as the female lead, and I want to do this correctly. In my original story she was a little too childish. So I'm going to try and go for a little more maturity for the Sun Goddess. She'll also look a bit different in this story, but I'm not going to give anything away.

Now for things I want to avoid for my new Gems story. I want to avoid oversaturating the story with so many OC's as some of my friends have mentioned that they either forgot certain characters, or thought there were too many. My solution is simple... KEEP the cast down to a minimal.

As for how long Gems Alternative will be? I'll plan it to be 20 chapters the maximum. Unlike the original trilogy where I had originally intended to make a long ongoing saga, this story will be shortened and I plan to end it at chapter 20. No more or less.

Lastly, I'll be introducing a few new OC'S for this story and it'll be centered around them and I plan to have artwork made for them :)
