A few updates that have little to do with me writing on this site · 2:24am Apr 12th, 2022
Howdy, got too many things to touch on for me to say exactly what this blog is about in the title. So I'll say it here: Looking Glass print edition update, Tension Points (my Deltarune novel) print update, Solve et Coagula (my Deltarune AU) update in general, ScaredyBunn Resident Evil streams resuming, and my Barcast interview and where you can listen to if you missed it!
So let's start with the thing you're likely most interested in: the Looking Glass print edition continues, and I have a few new pics to show from it! The first one here is by Kimmy, an artist I met through my time in the Deltarune fandom.
Kimmy's art immediately impressed me, and I wanted to work with her for a while now. I love her use of colors, and so I thought she would do exceptional at the sunset picture from Celestia's chapter in Looking Glass. I was correct. I highly recommend anyone in the market for a commission consider her, as she was great to work with on this piece! You can see more of her work on Tumblr and Instagram.
Up next, we have Rayne, whom is also a new artist to the Who We Become series.
Working with Rayne was interesting and fun, as they have a lot of creative vision for their pieces. My only guidance was the dimensions of the pic and the content, while it was their idea to use space to capture what Sunset was feeling here. It's her first meeting with Twilight, and as Rayne described it, it's a very loud silence. I love this idea, and the use of the top and bottom sections to show the world around them, the silence being so strong even leaves blowing and a bird in the window are notable. It was a very cool take on this scene, and I'm delighted with the results. You can see more of Rayne's art on Twitter.
So what's the status of Looking Glass now? Well, we're actually getting somewhere! Of the twenty pics I wanted illustrated, eleven are completely finished. Another two are paid and in the hands of the artists, three are not paid yet but I've opened talks with the artists, and two more have artists picked out for them but have not been initiated in any other capacity yet. This leaves me with two pics left to assign figure out artists for, and then it'll just be a matter of wrapping up the project's visuals as I edit the story one more time. I'll also need to ask Pasu really nicely if she can fix the spine, as is it will now be larger than before so need a little more thiccness on the spine.
Speaking of print editions though, I'm also almost ready to pull the trigger on the Tension Points print edition. All in all it's a simpler project, with far less elaborate art and only a single artist working on it. Renrink has done the entirety of the dust jacket minus the spine (I still need to edit the book for print, so that'll be the last thing done), and she's done one of four interior illustrations while working on the next. HYPE! Will show off the whole thing as a completed project when it's ready.
As one more fanfic related note before I ramble about other stuff, I've resumed work on my Deltarune AU Solve et Coagula. In the story, Susrxian is a demon who gets summoned from Hell by Kris, Catti, and (reluctantly) Noelle. When I started this AU, I didn't know where it would go. I have a little more idea now. It is rated M for violence and language, so take note of that before reading. It's different in tone than either of these, but I'm drawing inspiration from Helluva Boss and Silent Hill. I've commissioned cover art for it so I'm getting more serious here and really planning on digging into this story in the future. Read it on Offprint or AO3!
As for my non-fic goings on, I'm going to be resuming my ScaredyBunn videogame streams Saturday. It was on hold while I was visiting bats for a week, but now I'm ready to start them up again and will likely be doing them weekly. Expect a stream on Saturday @ 7pm EDT. If you want to make sure you don't miss it, gimme a follow on Twitch here! Or you can follow my currently empty YouTube channel to see the recordings of the streams after the fact
Speaking of YouTube, if you missed my Barcast interview, you can check it out now on YouTube or Soundcloud!
I think that's all the updates I have for now! Hope something in here is of interest to you, and I swear I'll come back and write horses some day hahaha
