[06/03/2022] Updates and Continuations! · 10:59am Mar 6th, 2022
So, it's been only a day or so since I published the newest chapters of Deadwood's Detective Agency and Future Tactics - The War Games, and the response I've seen so far has me pumped! Both stories are labours of love, but for a while, I was legitimately burned out from writing (It's a problem that happens if I try to 'blitz' writing chapters - it takes so much out of me that I get writer's block that refuses to go away unless I try and focus on something like a short story).
However, coming back, I have noticed a few things:
1) A lot of focus is still on short-form stories (Stories which more constitute the equivalent of a short story, or single-chapter stories)
2) A lot of stories are already coming out for G5 (Which is incredible to see, and it appears some of the stories are exceptionally well done, so that's incredible)
3) Despite any thoughts to the contrary, people still really enjoy detective and long-form science fiction stories.
None of these are negatives, as you can see, which makes me very happy for the next coming group of potential writers.
There is a caveat, though - with the new writers, I'd like to impart a very important piece of advice:
Don't give up. Your first few stories are not going to be the greatest in existence, so just work on your style. Read a lot of books, light novels and short stories and see how they work. Always remember that you are still learning, and that you will improve as long as you believe you can. Once you tell yourself that you can't, you will find that it becomes harder and harder to write.
So, don't give up, and never say 'you can't.'
If you're a long-time follower/watcher, I appreciate you all.
