    Well, color me impressed.

All 78 episodes on 2 discs, the translation is just as solid as the Hulu version, the subtitles are on by default, and they even translated the mid-episode character cards.

So I've been busy away from ponies... Again...

With my quest/race to get a Rainbow S on all of Freedom Planet 2's stages, my creativity lit up like a bonfire again, and I started crafting an alternate ending of sorts for the past week.

That story is now complete, and posted in its entirety over on AO3.

I'm filing this under "Personal Greatest Gaming Achievements Ever".

I seriously hope this video looks as impressive as it felt.

Pointers for those unfamiliar with Freedom Planet 2:

One week ago, I said it would never happen.

That I would never achieve a Rainbow S ranking on every level of Freedom Planet 2.

    And now...

Sony Buys Bungie For $3.6 Billion · 7:31pm Jan 31st, 2022

Holy shit. Alright, a couple things:

1. Not a chance in hell they are worth that much.

2. First thing you need to do is tell them to stop vaulting paid content. If that means rebuilding the engine from the ground up, so fucking be it.

But if Sony can help them turn Destiny into more than a FOMO minmax simulator, best of luck, guys.

Whoa is it the gaming company who did Destiny

And the same company that locks out all the paid content except endgame and near-endgame, so that if you're a newcomer there for the story, good luck.

I'm not really a big fan of shooting games so I probably won't be that excited of their game

So this is it?

A standoff between Sony and Microsoft to see who can acquire the most assests first without triggering a monopoly lawsuit by the ftc.

I'm just really scratching my head over that number.

Why the hell would you pay that much for a company with one active IP?

Bungie, the original creators of Halo. I'm assuming this is revenge for Microsoft taking hold of the banjo kazooie and Spyro the dragon IP's.

5632668
Microsoft bought Activision-Blizzard. They have so many IPs.

So in revenge, Sony bought Bungie, with currently one active IP?

5632669
It's possible. I would imagine that Sony Japan had the final say on it. There is the concept of face, and saving face is very important. If Sony didn't respond in some way, that would be like rolling over in the face of Microsoft's provocation. And while it may not make a lot of sense, there may also be other factors like available capital, companies that are willing to be bought, or it's also a possibility that none of this is applicable and Sony was originally planning to buy Bungie and the timing happened to coincide.

5632670
According to Twitter, they remain an independent subsidiary, can self-publish anything they see fit, and all future content for Destiny 2 will remain multi-platform.

Not sure what they're getting out of this.

Unless there's going to be other teams at Bungie making a competitor to Halo / CoD.

I'm guessing Guerilla can't do that with Resistance because they're working on Horizon.

5632671
I don't know how popular Destiny is in the Xbox ecosystem, but perhaps Sony is trying to leverage it as a bargaining chip? Tit for tat as they say, multi-platform destiny for multi-platform call of duty? Barring that, there is merit to having them create a competitor first-person shooter, as you mentioned. Alternatively, maybe there's a tool or a technology that Sony thinks is necessary to remain competitive?

5632667
Either someone did a good job of selling them hard, or Sony was desperate to get out a win. Microsoft buying ActiBlizz dealt them a pretty brutal blow.

Just read the FAQ Bungie did on this, apparently all future Destiny content and future non-Destiny games will be on non-PlayStation consoles. What did Sony get out of this? or was this for Bungie's betterment?
I'm addicted to the game atm (pls send help) so I don't know what to make of it.

Such an odd choice. I was expecting them to buy Square Enix or possibly Capcom, not Bungie of all things.

before Yoshi-P did the miracle turn around on FF14 it would have been a good investment but now that SE isn't on the verge of bankruptcy? I don't think they'd sell
