Happy New Year! · 11:22pm Jan 2nd, 2022
So despite my best efforts, I ended up being extremely productive during Christmas/New Year time off... On everything except Rising Omega.
I spent a lot of time with family, completely painted a basement, wrote a custom piece of CMS/database software to keep track of family junk keepsakes and boxes in said basement, wired a set of custom tail-lights, installed two new KVM switches so that I can cycle all three of my primary monitors at my desk instead of just the center one (harder than you'd think because I have a fairly complex custom desk+bookshelf+vesa-arms setup that makes the monitors appear to float and hides all cables), reimaged my work machine fresh with a shiny new SSD and up to date copy of Windows - re-setup my whole dev environment afterwards, did lots of training with Sam (coming soon - a blog post just on that; It will be a doozie, in the best way), and played/DMd quite a few games of DnD.
So my Christmas, and interregnum, was extremely productive, enjoyable, fulfilling... But I only wrote a piecemeal bit for RO. About half of the next chapter all told.
All of which to say yes I'm still at it, no I'm not giving up/stopping now, but yes sometimes there will be lulls.
I'm hoping to finish RO sometime this year; If I have one New Year's Resolution, that's really it.
Everyone stay safe, wear your mask, stockpile your beans, ammo, and dice collections, and I hope you too had an excellent Holiday season!
