He doesn't seem to realize that I'm going to make it a No-Win for Snapshot and the gang ANY WAY...
First of all, let's look at the situation...
Well if they aren't, then they're just being clingly and selfish.
Oh sure... he's being real clingy with her, because he wants to put as much physical distance between himself and her as he wanted (A move that I am quite fond of)
Rather than be just friends, put as much distance between yourself as possible and REALLY let them go.
-Do not speak to them
-Do not run into them
-Just walk out of their life FOREVER...!!
Then again, Terra did that to BB (Kicking him to curb saying she never wanted to see him again just so SHE can live a Normal Life)

Funny, you badmouth Strings for that, just because he won't get over Cadance and give Sun Rae a chance, or any character I make who won't give ANOTHER girl a chance. (Which is why I usually make it so there aren't any other girls who like him)

And Snapshot refused to play his part and simply let her be happy, instead basically acting as though if she's not happy with HIM then she shouldn't be happy at all.
As you saw, THERE IS NO WAY OUT.
Someone would be upset REGARDLESS of how Snapshot acted.
This is inspired by yet another of my favorite and highly approved of situations regarding friends, and I learned it from a Davis and Kari fic...
He couldn’t even stand to be with his friends. He couldn’t take their pity. He knew they wouldn’t stop hanging out with them, and if he hung out with his friends, he had to hang out with them, and see them together!
*Wicked snicker*
A hopeless situation for the friendship...
-If he hangs with them, he'll be in deep pain, which of course will take away from everyone else's happiness. Even if he SAYS he's alright and ACTS like it, they'll know he's lying just to protect them, which will STILL take away from their happiness.
-If he doesn't hang with them, it'll cause everyone pain, but hopefully not nearly as much.
...Yeah, NOT hanging with them all is the better solution. Whatever pain everyone is in... it'll just be minimum.
(that's what I loved about the Kirins THE SOUND OF SILENCE... instead of being careful what they say, and LEARNING how to speak... they take the easy way and make it so they CANNOT TALK AT ALL.)
So really, Snap is trying to avoid his friends to PROTECT THEM as well as himself. He's trying to LET Pirouette be with Slam and not have to worry or put up with him anymore.
...Then again, Pirouette wanting Snap to continue hanging with her and the gang, even though she KNOWS it causing him pain... gee, I guess she falls into the CLINGY SELFISH department too. (And if she acts like "Who cares. Just suck it up and move on)
And that 100% fits Snapshot since all he does is act like he's the only one who deserves the woman while not remotely respecting her feelings, acting as though she should just dump her boyfriend and get together with him because that's what HE wants.
Is he TRYING to break them up? No, he's trying to give them space by avoiding them.
Then again, THEY are trying to force him to hangout with the gang and still be friends, DESPITE their knowledge it will cause him pain, and all they can think of is "Suck it up!" "Get over it" "No one cares about your feelings at all"
...Gee, now who's being selfish, at least he's trying to do something that works best for everyone (GIVING SPACE)
...But I guess that's just not enough for you. (Then again, what is?)
This is just like Strings all over again. He KNOWS he can't have Princess Cadance... and regardless of his refusal to "Get over it"
He wishes her no harm...
He makes no attempts break up her marriage...
He doesn't even try to make contact with her, preferring to keep as much distance as he can.
..Again... I guess that's just not enough for you. (Then again, what is?)
Really sad considering we all know if the situation was reversed you'd suddenly treat it like Snapshot was a good person for not getting together with the woman he doesn't like. But since it's the woman who's telling him she's not interested suddenly that makes her the bad guy.
I would applaud him for rejecting someone, but the fact is... he's not a good person no matter what. He's not with Pirouette. (Marks a 0)
-Job means nothing
-Contributions mean nothing
-Saving a baby from a fire... definitely means nothing
-Hangs with his friends=He gets hurt
-Doesn't hang with his friends=He gets hurt
-Make any attempt to accept Pirouette is with another, move on from your crush and reconcile with the gang= He's dead!
