Average brony obsessing over the main cast with an unhealthy desire to see them in a dark fantasy setting.

Did you know that I published a book? · 2:17am Dec 14th, 2021

This book to be exact.

TStar Overhead
It's easy to think that the sky is falling when a new problem arises. But what do you do when the sky really does fall on your head?

Well, kind of. In the above, there are seven chapters, effectively one for each pony. A few of those chapters aren't really laid out well and don't contribute to the narrative as much as I'd have liked them to. So, when I decided to move to my own IP for original fiction, I figured I'd take that and make this instead:

Volume 1

Volume 2

Volumes 1 & 2 are the first two chapters of the original story rewritten as standalone pieces. The original story clocks in at 155K words, and these two volumes together are about half that at 70K. An added prologue, and instead of just having rainbow Rebecca explain her backstory as just an off hand thing, we see it happen in real time. The ending is different, where the story goes from there is a bit different, and events that happen in book 2 that effect book 4 are drastically different.

And of course, that brings me to the other reason I'm making this post now: in a month and two days, Volume 3 will be releasing on all formats just like Volumes 1 & 2 (eBook, Paperback, Hardback, and Audio book as read by yours truly.)

Volume 3

To be entirely honest, this book is the least changed of the four I've completed thus far. I felt was on the money when I wrote it and all things considered, it was one of, if not the easiest part to write. Rarity Amethyst is just a fun character to use. She practically never appears in chapters 4 and 6 of the original story, but she's already made herself known in Volume 4.

Volume 5 has a drafted outline, but nothing's been written yet, and I've not even started on 6 or 7. However, I keep working on this almost daily, and I've yet to stop doing at least something for the story once a day in several months. It's slow going with the pre-christmas rush at work, but I believe I'm onto something here. I'm happier than I have been in a while, I feel like I'm actually making progress in life instead of just wasting away in front of my PC, and while things aren't going was well as I'd like, I'm in better shape than I was before.

I'm also looking at trying to get a website built as a sort of 'fiction review' site. Mostly, I want the site to focus on new, independently published books, but also have reviews and discussions about said books. I've got a partner interested, but neither of us are web designers. If anybody out there is interested and has some know how, hit me up on Discord at KorenCZ11#8887

Anyways, that's all from me for now. I've got stuff I need to work on before I head to work here in a few hours.
Until Next Time~

Nice trick to deal with copyrights, hope it turns out profitable ). Anyway, first steps are always tricky ...

I have that book so yes I do know. :trollestia:

Well, now you have a legacy item if it ever takes off! While I highly doubt that happens, it's a cool thing to have I suppose.
Now uh. Get the rest of them. :moustache:

I'd say it's less of a trick and more of a rewrite than anything. While one whole section of the original chapter 1 and 3 were copied over and had a few words replaced (i.e. hand>hoof, hair>mane, etc.), pretty much everything else was rewritten from the ground up. This has been, if nothing else, a great learning experience. by the time I move on to the next thing, I might even know what I'm doing.

Course, you could always help this one by picking up a copy and giving it a 5 star review on Amazon.

What are the others? Did you unponify the story and rewrite it?

Yes, and they're linked above the pictures of the covers, though what was once an 11000 word chapter 2 is now the 50K word volume 2. Each one is available in digital paper, hardback, and audiobook formats. Volume 3 comes out on Jaunary 15th.

Neat! I'm more of a pony-fic sort but it's great to see your creations.
