So I watched Arcane yesterday…. · 10:17pm Dec 13th, 2021

AND DESPITE MY LOW EXPECTATIONS I FREAKING LOVE IT!!!

I highly recommend you watch it even if you dislike League of Legends or no nothing about League that’s the beauty of it you don’t need to.

And if you haven’t seen in don't read the rest of this because SPOILERS AHEAD! Again I repeat stop reading if you haven’t seen because SPOILERS AHEAD!

Story Time:

So yesterday I was cleaning my house and preoaring for Christmas when I decided to sit down and have lunch while watching something. And when I saw Arcane I said “meh I’ve heard it was amazing but it’s based of League.” I suppose it’s only one episode.

And immediately watching that opening sequence where Vander adopts the 2 girls I was surprisingly emotional and shocked at myself for almost tearing up consider I’m usually not that emotional about anything.

First episode goes on I’m mostly intrigued but nothing is as good as the first 3 minutes and the Enemy intro but I decide I’ll continue watching and watch the 2nd episode while I fold my laundry.

Then next thing I knew I was completely done with the show it was dark out and I’d only folded 6 shirts and not touched my phone once that whole time.

About 1 rewatch later it’s the middle of the night and my roommate walks in and asks why the house ain’t cleaner while I’m sitting on the couch in shock at the show being just as good the 2nd time.

My quick analysis of the episodes:

1: starts strong but falters when things get more lighthearted.

2: great episode even greater cliffhanger!

3: The amount of shock and violence this episode gave us was so good and so heartbreaking the Powder and Vi scene right after the bomb gave me chills both times I watched it and for once I’m unashamed to say I cried while Powder was crying.

4: Great reintroduced of characters after the time jump and honestly despite it being trauma I love Batshit insane Jinx!

5: Jinx is terrifying and Viktor is amazing!

6: The reunion and the ending of the episode are a great example of the amazing characterization the show has done thus far.

7: Ekko vs Jinx and the micro expressions during it are enough to make anyone who is an animation nerd fangirl or fanboy over the show.

8: Jinx saw Caitlyn naked before Vi did !

9: The party scene and the rocket shooting/the wrapping up of character arcs is the best part of the show for me and despite how much episode 3 made me cry Silco’s death had me bawling and shedding more tears then anything else in this Greek tragedy!
After all “You’re perfect!”

I don’t usually like things that are trending but this was a masterclass in animation, Story, Characters, and Video game adaptations.

My final thought on the show:
Give Jinx therapy and lots of hugs
