I like big ponies and I cannot lie.
I get it, there are stories where ponies are absolute jerks with insane magical power. Who abuse it over puny humans. But what do you think of ponies holding back and being actually gentle? They have the ability to easily wipe out humanity, but they simply don't do it because they actually have compassion and empathy.
Would overpowered ponies become more acceptable then?

Yeah, pretty sure ponies aren't evil. Or at least the evil ones are sufficiently outnumbered as to be crushed utterly.
I don't really think so. It's not too different than, say, AI. A single AI may have the power to launch a nuke or completely wreck your life with a few lines of code, but just because they don't do it doesn't mean that a lot of humans wouldn't be instinctively afraid of them.

Yeah. Some writers I seen on fimfiction make ponies total assholes toward the weak. Turn it into a power fantasy about humans being abused by OP Ponies.

Yeah, that seems like an interesting moral dilemma.
I know some people would be afraid of them and don't want them to be anywhere near high population of people fearing that they can wiped them out in a blink of a eye. Hell a couple of humans will attack them out of fear and won't listen to reason.

Depending on the story (universe etc), it's lucky the ponies would be so OP the humans would not be able to hurt them.
That premise would make for a wonderful story. It could even work if instead of OP, humans just couldn't help but to be weak towards their cuteness.
That would be basically the equivalent of a kid (the pony) with his ant farm (the humans)

it would also depend on who initiated the contact, when the ponies suddenly show up, the humans would surely panic, but if the humans are the ones pushing for contact, cause theyre after resources or whatever.
also if the ponies consider themselves op, just because they break the meta on earth, doesnt mean that they do on their own world. humans are weaker, but were on the top of the food chain in our world, with no natural enemies. ponies however have to deal with dragons, chimeras, hydras, timberwolves and ursa majors who can outmatch an entire army, some of which can even pose threats to alicorns

It won't matter to much with human on pony interactions. If the ponies are broken I often make them in my stories. Ponies will want to be friends with humans, if they were hostile to them, since the humans can't hurt them.
